Hey,

First, let me introduce myself. I’m Dúnio, I Live in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean in a paradise called The Azores.

It all began when I found my furry friend Yara. She was only 3 months old, hungry, and alone, and I knew I could help. The first step was to convince my wife that I would be responsible for the cats hygiene. Since day one Yara became a family member and we immediately fell in love with her personality. She was moody, obsessed with her hygiene, and loved to be the queen of the house. But above all, Yara was the “person” behind this litter box.

In the beginning, I used to separate the p**p from the litter and also disinfect it almost every day. But life keeps getting in the way, and sometimes I thought that separating and adding new litter would be enough.

But once again, Yara found a way to show me. Every time I would finish cleaning, she started to get anxious and stressed so I started testing. I realized that when I fully disinfected it, she would feel safe and clean.

The search for a litter box took me a while but I would always find solutions for me, but none with the purpose to disinfect it.

So, I decided to start my own with 3 goals in mind:

-> To clean with no tools in an easy fast way;

-> To disinfect and not just clean it;

-> Beautiful design to make it fit anywhere;

After a few brainstorms, I built my prototype, and from that point, YaraPets became my life. It’s patented and I’ve won a few contests but mainly, every time someone tells us how it could change their lives, we know we are on the right path.

We couldn’t develop this project without help from people with knowledge in different areas. We were lucky to gather people that believed in YaraBox likeas we do.

From prototypes to our website, branding and design, intellectual property and engineering, financial support to start everything… There’s a lot of people that made YaraBox possible.
