Figured its time I introduce me and us properly.
I grew up with dogs and cats but small dogs mostly spaniels. I would always ask my mother for a big dog and she always answered “when you are old enough you can get a dog as big as you want”
But that was not the reason for me to end up with a dane as my first dog in my early 20’s. I looked into several breeds for example the Weimaraner and the Rhodesian Ridgeback. Great Dane was also on my list.
So I started to study the breeds of interest and get into contact with several breeders and ended up choosing the fabulous dane.
A decision I will never regret, they are essentially my souldogs. I even met my husband that way…on a dating-app, he had a profile picture of himself and his dane at the time Atlas. So I wrote to him “Hey you! Handsome dog” and the rest is now history.
Starting out with danes as a young girl I had no intentions of getting myself into conformation or breeding. But I actually did show my first dane Elliot, he was a blue boy from kennel Lloyd-Willners. At the moment I really did not understand the purpose of a dogshow but it was a fun experience.
During these past 25 something years I have done a lot of travelling and living abroad so I have not always been able to have a dane in my life but ever since I was done with that kind of life there has always been a dane in my life and now 4.

Starting this pack we were always thinking we would have only boys and if someone turned out good enough with regards to standard and health we could participate in the preservation of the dane in that way.
But during the past 2-3 years we have been talking more often about how it would be bringing a litter into this world and also then living with a girl/girls. To me it’s a big deal since I absolutely love love love the boys.
But during these years a huge interest in the breedtype and the preservation of it has also presented itself and after a lot of time and discussions we felt ready to get ourselves into this world that holds both the amazing feeling of welcoming a healthy litter and the dark side where things don’t go as planned even though you tried your hardest to forsee the outcome.

Mats also has experience of danes since before and has a real soft spot for any animal. He is not so (read hell no) interested in the conformation part which is why you will probably never see him on a show. He is the one covering the groundservices for the rest of the pack while I am away. Making sure they get activated, fed and LOVED. He will be the best puppy-keeper in history.

Our goal with breeding is to make a contribution to the preserving of the breed. Choices will be made with support and dialogue with more experienced breeders whom I look up to and respect highly. We will be very humble to the fact that we are new to this entire world. To us the dane is a big but athletic dog, we want it to be fit for function and that requires a good construction. The temperament will also be a key. And of course health but I am thinking that goes without saying. We will always pick combinations we could have desired a dog from ourselves. At the moment we are not sure how it feels to let a puppy go and are at the risk of becoming more crazy dog people than we already are.
And then we will just close the shop and live happily ever after ❤️
