Sometimes, we can't recognize the plant when we start them from seeds. This is a typical example. Seeds very small. People in other countries call them w**d. It costs some of you lots of money. What is it?

Our Soil Preparation video is finally ready. This is how we do it at home, at school and the plots we worked on. Leave a comment if you any other question. And, no, I'm not going to dress up just for the camera, thanks.

I think I can be like him.......at least we know how to grow veg.....can you? More importantly, do support them if you can. Definitely organic!!! I see some of these vendors by the side of Chong Pang Market too; no proper stalls, just by the side. Have you seen them anywhere else?

Those of you wanting to grow your CNY 45 days crops from seeds, better get things ready by this week!

I didn't know our followers are so shy. Thanks for the PMs though. Here's question 2:
Would you, or your organization be prepared to bulk purchase fresh vegetables for the needy, wholesale price +, maybe another +, at regular intervals, like weekly, monthly, quarterly? The plus is that you can participate at any stage of the process, including the money shot: harvest!

Thanks for those that came and visit. Hoped we have been helpful. You still have time before we leave this place. As you know, we are in the very difficult search for a new place to farm. We need your help to formulate our plans through answering some questions that we have. We will not hold you to your answers but we want to hear what you think, please. Here's the first question:

If you are buying your vegetables at $x /kg, would your mind paying S$x + y, y

One of our member is organizing a plant for charity effort, like us hehe. He managed to gain support from 50 members of his CG to each "sacrifice" a box for the effort. Soil prepared - by him of course (our way), seeds sowed. In support, we'll be planting the same seeds this week, as back up or double their efforts. Good job, guys. We're with you all the way. Let's grow more food!

PS: If you, your CG/NG/School/Company, whatever, wants to grow for charity too, drop us a line. We'll be glad to help in whatever ways we can!

Sat/Sun - Soil prep
Mon - Seed starts
Tue - Transplant
Fri - Harvest
Come one whole week will learn everything.

It's Saturday! Farmers' market day here at 1 Bah Soon Pah Rd. Local growers like us (very, like 20m from the stall) contribute to stall. If your wet market is closed or something, this is a place for your fresh produce. Same day harvest, mostly. Come.

Time to share this post again! Those in the plug tray are peat. We used these exclusively for seed starting. Usually, they have enough for the seedlings to sit in there for about 14 days. Those items on the left are for soil prep, L-R, agriculture lime (in this case, calcium hydroxide cos its cheaper), mature compost, and chicken poo (the pallet version is less smelly but ex. Good if you have close neighbours). The extreme right is the Humic Plus fertiliser (NPK 888+TE). We applied twice for a complete vegetable cycle. Sun has to do its part. What is not shown here is WATER! Depending on your Sun exposure (with full sun, we water thrice a day), very very important. Not to water on a hot day is a myth. We've watered from the top at 11-3 with no problem at all. In fact, your vegetable will thank you.

The stuff we use to create a successful harvest. Of course, need the sun to cooperate. Can you name them and their purpose?

Market worthy Naibai, after a trim, of course. But that is not the story here. Due to the new restrictions, the class can't harvest at the plots. 2 poor teachers have to do it on their behalf. No easy feat, speaking from experience. They are the Superstars of this story. Teach, you're the greatest. Hope the kids know that. What a HBL gift!!😍

New PB for us!

This week, we started 78 of those 77 holes trays and it's euqivalent. All in, we have about 200 trays of seedlings at the various stages. Of course, these are not for our one lot. (In fact, these trays are sitting in another lot!) We are now planting in 3 lots here at GV and working on getting another (bigger) lot ready. Five fold increase in planting spaces and hopefully, the results will match up. Need all your blessings and help, if you're willing to sweat it out with us.
