Likes savannas, shrubs, small forests, rocky places. Spends a lot of time on the ground. Feline lemurs are found in the south and southwest of the island of Madagascar and only a small population is observed in the Andringitra Mountains, on the southeastern plateau.

Feline lemurs are so named because of their close resemblance to cats. The cat lemur has white ears, belly, face and only black triangles around the eyes. The tail of a feline lemur is colored with black and white stripes, of which there are 13 pieces. The length of the cat lemur's tail is from 54 to 62 cm, quite long, considering that the length of the body is almost half that. Average weight: 2–2.4 kg.

At the same time, some tried to help people, especially their relatives - these good spirits are known as lars. Others, who were called lemurs, on the contrary, were considered evil spirits. This image probably occurred to European naturalists who found these strange creatures in the newly discovered southern lands.
