Power was restored last weekend and new batch of feeders arrived today! Every baby (and adult) was happy to take their meals including one very stubborn superconda albino who has been holding out on me for longer than I have liked. I was about to force feed her next meal which is not a decision breeders take lightly, but she was starting to lose condition and I was getting worried. To my surprise she took a pinky that had broken in the package and was missing its head. I left it with her and she ate it sometime in the last 90 minutes. 🙌 I’m so happy for her and can breathe better now that she’s taken her first meal. I just know she will grow up into a real beauty like her mama. 💜

My town of Aiken was hit pretty hard by the hurricane last week. So many massive trees fell, and an incredible amount of power lines are down. I drove out of town to get gas today and the sights were surreal. We have been without power since Friday, and will likely not see it return for many more days. We were lucky though, and only sustained minor damages to our property. Thankfully though the snakes are doing well. I intentionally skipped their meals last week in case we lost power, and I’m so glad I did. I’ll make an order for feeders when we regain power, and get all of the babies warmed up and eating again. If you’ve sent me a message I’ll do my best to reply as soon as I can, my internet is very spotty and I seem to get phone service in spurts. Please think of everyone that was affected by the storm, and pray for the linemen working tirelessly, as well as all of the others who are risking their safety to help those in need. 🙏 And for all of those in neighboring states who were affected so much worse by flooding. 🙏🙏

Susan’s single egg pipped yesterday and emerged today! He is a beautiful little arctic het toffee 💜 Now we are officially done for the year 😁

Here is a group shot of Samantha’s babies getting a soak after the last ones left their shells. Beautiful variation of color on the Condas, and lovely contrast on the axanthics! 💜 I’m very pleased with this clutch and I will post more individual photos this week as they start on meals and are separated.

All of the babies have pipped, and Samantha did not prove out het albino. With this size clutch I’m confident we should have gotten a visual. Not a problem though because these babies are still absolutely adorable! 💜 Messy little babies having their first glamor shots 📷

Samantha’s babies have started hatching! Here is a sneak peek of the ones first to exit, and I’ll update as the rest follow suit tomorrow 💜 So far it’s looking like she isn’t proving out het for albino, but there are enough eggs left that I’m not counting it out just yet 🙏🙏🙏😁 These so far are conda het toxic (axanthic and toffee) pos het albino, and an axanthic het toffee and pos het albino.

Perfect Prey knocked it out of the park again! Frozen solid feeders delivered in this southern heat. Great pricing, fast shipping, and I haven’t found a broken mouse yet because of their superb packing. 👍👍 Thanks again everyone at Perfect Prey for helping me feeding my hungry hoard of hognose! 💜💜

Starting to separate the recent clutch into smaller groups and this little super arctic male stood out to me. 💜 1 of the 5 beautiful female super arctics is spoken for, and I will do my best to get individual photos of all of the other available babies up in an album soon. As well as a photo of the baby shelf! It’s a sight to see 😁

Here is the newest clutch! Wild types, arctics, and seven super arctics all het albino and toffee belly. It’s a wonderful variety and I will get smaller group photos soon! 💜

I hope everyone in the path of Debby is safe! Lots of rain here, but we’re inland enough that I think we should be safe from major flooding. Babies have all pipped, and are in varying stages of hatching. I’m so pleased with this clutch and I can’t wait to see them all out together! 💜

New baby hides have arrived and are going in the dishwasher. These little sugar packet holders are the best hides for small hatchlings like colubrids. They clean well, and can easily stay with them throughout adolescence.
