Please share! Is anyone missing this sweet girl. She was found 1/4 mile past the radio station here in Aitkin. She is missing half her tail. Very sweet. Looks very healthy so I'm thinking she has a home.

What is Kitten Season?
Unless you have worked for an animal shelter or in rescue, you may not be familiar with the term “kitten season”. It’s the period between April and October when animal shelters and cat rescues are completely overwhelmed with stray and unwanted kittens. An estimated 20 MILLION homeless kittens will be born in the United States this spring. Sadly, more than half of the kittens born outside never reach an animal shelter or rescue, but will suffer and die. Those who survive often become feral as they reach maturity and will go on to have kittens of their own by the end of the year.

Trap-Neuter-Return, also known as TNR, prevents an obscene amount of kittens from suffering and dying on the streets, in the woods and under people's homes. If you’re feeding outdoor cats please TNR them to prevent more kittens from being born.

📍To locate a low-cost spay/neuter clinic contact your local humane society or cat rescues to inquire about TNR programs in your area. It's a busy time of year and surgery schedules can fill up quickly...call to make an appointment today! Don't worry if your cats aren't friendly enough to be handled...most TNR programs have humane box traps that they loan out so you can safely capture the cats and transport them to the clinic.

I have a wonderful story to share!
Many have seen the posters around town of the boy named Blondie missing since last May from the camp ground by the river. I have looked for this boy all summer many times a week. Well a yellow kitty wondered into Kelli O'Neils yard, by the high school, the other night and she gave it some food and sent me a picture. I Immediately recognized some similaritys between this Kitty and Blondie that had been missing for 7 months. I sent blondies owner, Matt the picture and he said he was 99% sure that that was his boy. Kelli had to leave for the city's to work for a few days and so I continued to put food out never seeing him. Kelli came home from the city's Saturday night and came and got a trap from me and sat out looking for him half the night, but he never showed up. Last night about 11 o'clock Kelli called me and he was there, She called his name and he came running to her, but not close enough to grab, so she set the trap and low and behold she got him. I immediately called his owner, because it was obvious that it was Blondie. Matt was so excited that he drove all the way up here from Apple Valley in the middle of the night to be reunited his boy that had been missing for 7 months. "God works in Mysterious ways."
Matt says he's only been home a few hours, but he is the same as if he never was lost.
Merry Christmas Matt, Your boy is home where he belongs.

So many precious souls need help. It's been overwhelming everywhere in cat rescue this year.😥

FARGO — Homeward Animal Shelter in Fargo is sending out a cry for help. The shelter has about 130 cats in its care, with about 40 in-house and the rest in foster homes. The shelter said it is over capacity by about 40 cats, forcing staff members to have kennels in their office space.

I was contacted this morning about 5 missing cats. Owner went to work yesterday and they were all there. When she got home they were missing. She lives Down Grove st by Round Lake North of Aitkin. Please if you have any information about these missing kitties please call 763-219-2687

This beautiful boy has had a very scary day. A woman in a van with kids, drove into the hospital parking lot here in Aitkin, opened the door and threw this boy out like a piece of trash and said they didn't want him anymore and drove away! Thank goodness a wonderful woman whose husband was having chemotherapy and some nurses saw this happen and kept him safe until I got home from work and they could get him to me. So sad that somebody does this at all, let alone in front of children teaching them that this is okay. I took him right to my vet. He is about a year old and already neutered, so at one time somebody actually cared about him. The police have been contacted and cameras will be looked at. If anybody has any information about this please call me at 218-232-3148.
If anybody would like to give this very, very friendly boy a indoor loving forever home please contact me so we can arrange for you to come and meet him.

Matt is still looking for his boy Blonde. He was lost at the camp ground by the river in Aitkin. He is dearly missed. He is 5 years old, neutered and very friendly. He is wearing a collar. He is also microchipped but the phone number he is registered under might not be the right number.
