Wow – what a night! Many thanks to Alice Sorensen, singer, songwriter and OSC foster mom, who delighted us with her songs and guitar playing. The desserts were outstanding thanks to Heidi, Lynn, Maggie, and the Nyx Bakery.

Thank you, Holli, for designing and creating the table centerpieces. Many thanks to our volunteers who donated raffle baskets and a door prize – and for donations from Emil J. Nagengast Florist, Pet Supplies Plus – Albany, and Linda Kindlon! Thank you, Heidi, for donating the beautiful sterling silver and gold kinetic piece, created by Irish artist and jeweler Alan Ardiff for the silent auction. An extra special thanks to the OSC Events committee, Diane, Pat, Theresa, Maggie, Holli, and Tara. And of course we are truly grateful to our gracious hosts, John and Karen of Meadowdale Wines.

Willow 3 is ready for adoption! She is a 3 year old torbie - part tortoiseshell, part tabby. Willow is loving and playful, and she will make a great companion. Yesterday, Jenn and Ray performed a heroic act—they rescued two young kittens from a perilous ditch dangerously close to a 55mph roadway. These tiny kittens, that they named Tommy and Ryan, are now safe, nestled in a comfortable place with nourishing food, water, and medication.

Even as we write this post, we’re trying to figure out how to help a new situation we just learned about with a mom cat and four kittens discovered in a garage. The urgent need to rescue homeless cats and kittens is beyond overwhelming. We rely on compassionate supporters like you to make a difference.

Please meet Bubbles and Tiny! They are a bonded pair of kittens who are looking for a new home together. This duo is affectionate and playful, and they love other cats! They do well with dogs, too. They can be shy at first, but are easily bribed with treats. Tiny and Bubbles will be happiest in a quieter home, and older children will love them. Little Belle had a rough start in life, and it was touch and go for her first few weeks. But today, thanks to exceptional medical care and round-the-clock nourishment, Belle is blossoming! She devours her meals like a healthy kitten, her weight steadily climbing. And just this week, she graduated from the life-saving incubator, a testament to her resilience.

As kitten season unfolds, we face new challenges. These tiny lives depend on us. Our ambitious goal of $15,000 is vital. It ensures that every rescued kitten receives the care they need to thrive.

Young Papaya is ready for adoption! He’s a 9 month old tuxedo kitten with an extra long tail. Papaya is brave and athletic, and very affectionate. Mango is ready for adoption! He’s one of the male tropical fruit litter. Mango is a sweet young boy, all black until he flips over and shows you his tiny white speedo. He can be a bit shy at first, but he’s easily bribed with a squeeze treat. Mango likes other cats and tolerates dogs. He will need at least one other playful cat in his new home. Bubbles and Tiny!

Bubbles and Tiny can SEE! Just look at the before photo in the comments and after video, what a difference! Dr. Corbett, the ophthalmologist at the Capital District Veterinary Referral Hospital, examined them recently and said that their eyesight was excellent! They’ll need continued treatment, but they can see! You helped save their lives and sight! Here’s even more great news! With funds still coming in we’ve raised $38,602 for our annual appeal, so close to our goal of $40,000. Thank you, we couldn’t save kittens like Bubbles and Tiny without you. Promising news! As of early this morning, Annie is slowly improving, and her feistiness is coming back. She is starting to eat with encouragement from the vet staff. The video is a little fuzzy but it’s happy and that works well for us! Please keep those well wishes, prayers and good vibes coming.
