Hot surfaces, such as asphalt or sand, can reach temperatures that can burn your dog's paws. Be mindful of the ground temperature when walking your furry friend in warm weather. Dogs sweat through their feet, so if you can't hold the back of your hand to the ground for more than 10 seconds, then it is too hot! Instead, give your dog some indoor enrichment like a puzzle toy, stuffed kong, licky mat, puppy bubbles or a puppy pool in the shade and walk them when it is cooler.

Mikaela was recently adopted from a local rescue. She was extremely shy and fearful of strangers, and she was barking and growling when people came over to visit. Our first session was on 2/9/24, and this video was taken at our 3rd session on 2/16/24. It is amazing what can happen in one week with the Treat/Retreat technique!
