🚨🚨RESCUE K-911 ALERT!! 🚨🚨
Hey folks! Check out our new friend, Waylon!! We believe he is a Husky/Red Heeler mix, but we are sure he is the sweetest boy EVER! Waylon was saved from the euthanasia list and is currently being fostered by us at Operation K-911. Waylon is approximately 2-3 years old and weighs a whopping 45lbs! Quite frankly, he’s travel size! Which is awesome cuz this boy loves to run!!! He is rather timid when you first meet him, but has warmed up to us over the last couple weeks. He is great with dogs AND cats. He appears to be potty trained and crates extremely well! His ears seem to have gotten stuck in this position, but we think it gives him character. 🙂

🚨🚨RESCUE K-911 ALERT🚨🚨
Our demo was a HUGE success!!! Thank you to all who came out to see the dogs and watch Stitch’s demo. Even Rocco made an appearance!! Speaking of Rocco…we haven’t introduced him yet! Rocco is a 2 year old pitty who is part of our Rescue K-911 program. The goal is to pull shelter dogs from the euthanasia list, send them through Operation K-911’s training program, and get them adopted out to their forever home so they don’t return to the shelter!! Rocco was a bait dog for dog fighting and was extremely emaciated when he arrived at his foster’s. We are happy to report he has gained significant weight and looks pretty darn handsome! Rocco also just completed his 4-week training program and was a ROCK STAR!!! Rocco is good with other dogs. Loves people of all sizes, but sometimes forgets he’s a big goof. He is not a fan of cats though, so we will keep working on that! If you’d be interested in adopting Rocco or meeting him, please reach out to Operation K-911!!! 😎🐶

Congratulations to our newest Operation K-911 graduates!! Jackson, Moon, and Star all completed their 4-week training program and passed with flying colors! These 3 dogs now have both on-leash and off-leash obedience with a full recall!! Way to go pups!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Alright all you smooshed-face fans…meet VINNY!!! Vinny is a 6 year old Bulldog/Pug mix (clearly 😂) and is looking for his fur-ever home! Vinny is part of our Rescue K-911 program and has been thriving! Vinny is house and crate trained, loves to snuggle, and love, love, LOVES his tennis balls! Although Vinny gets along with other dogs and cats, he would do best in a home where he is the center of attention! 🚨RESCUE K-911 ALERT‼️🚨
Everyone meet Rico!!! Rico came to us on Monday and boy is he something! For those of you wondering what this thing is, this is the modern day velociraptor with floofy hair!! 😂

Okay okay…he’s not a “full” blooded velociraptor. We believe Rico may be a Belgian Tervuren and Dutch Shepherd mix. And if you don’t know what a Tervuren is, he is the fluffy equivalent of retired police K9 Stitch!!!

Rico is quite a handsome boy, but he is a high-energy, working breed so his forever home will need to keep him busy or he will find his own ways to do that! He is still a pup at only 7 months old. He weighs a little over 55 lbs and still has some room to grow. He does great with other dogs and so far he has been nice to the cats!

Rico will do best with a family that has some space for him to run as he is a herding breed. He will also need a family that is willing to take the time to train him and keep his little Tervuren brain stimulated and happy with games and play. Rico will be going through our 4-week program to learn some much needed manners and then will be available for adoption!

🚨RESCUE K-911 ALERT🚨
Everyone meet KAYA! This lil peanut is the reason we here at Operation K-911 have changed up our mission and started this program. Kaya is believed to be a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and is a rescue from Texas. Kaya and another dog were within a couple hours of being euthanized when a very kind human named Tracy Petrie reached out to the shelter and literally saved their lives!!! Kaya was a bait dog used in dog fighting and had cigarette burns all over her body when she came to the shelter.💔 Tracy reached out to Operation K-911 to get Kaya trained before she could find her fur-ever home, but we absolutely fell in love with her so she is now one of the newest members of the Operation K-911 crew! We are so excited to welcome Kaya to the family!!! Although Kaya is not up for adoption, we are extremely excited to announce two other very special pups who recently entered our Rescue K-911 program that ARE up for adoption! So keep tuning in this week to meet our two new fur-iends!And here’s a little hint: floof missile and smoosh mouth… 😎🐶

Hey Facey-book folks! Any of you remember the old Rescue 911 show?!?! Boy do we have good news for you!!! Operation K-911 is changing up our mission after a very special friend entered the picture, so we are starting a new program called RESCUE K-911!!! Each month, we are going to rescue one or two pups who have found themselves in a rough situation, run them through our 4-week board and train program, and find them a new, loving, FUR-ever home! The money made from these adoptions will be used for the next rescues that come into the program, so we can keep helping our precious pups out!!! So stay tuned…we already have 2 furry friends that will be making headlines this week! Please like and share, so we can get the word out and hopefully find these pups some AWESOME homes!! 😎🐶👏🏻

***MAPLE UPDATE!***
Great news folks! Maple went to be with her new owners and forever home today!!! Although we were very sad to see her go 😭, we are so excited for her to have a family of her own!! Thank you to our adopters for giving Maple a chance. We know she will be a great dog for you! 😎🐶❤️

Looking for some mental stimulation for your dog??? Throw small pieces of cooked chicken, training treats, or whatever food your dog likes into the yard and let the sniffing begin! Your dog has to use their nose to find the bits of food. Keeps them busy and wears them out, too!! Don’t mind Olaf…he’s just so photogenic and wanted to say hi! 😎🐶

We are a tad late on this post, but better late than never!! Everyone meet Danny!!! Or Daniel!!! Or Olaf!!! We haven’t decided yet. 😂

This handsome guy is another one of Operation K-911’s foster pups! He is a 16 week old white shepherd/husky mix! He sometimes likes to be a cat and sit on top of the couch. Other times he plays dead in his crate. We also think he might be part velociraptor as the noises and faces he makes can only mimic that of a prehistoric creature.

Danny was rescued by our friends at the Northwoods Animal Alliance. If you’re interested in adopting Danny, please contact them and fill out an application! If you can’t adopt, fostering is always another wonderful option!!! And donations to their organization are always greatly appreciated!

Danny will be making an appearance along with Maple and the other Operation K-911 crew as he completes training with us! Check back for updates on his paw-gress (see what we did there) 😂😎🐶

***MAPLE UPDATE!!***
Hi folks! Sorry we have been MIA. Operation K-911 has had a very busy couple of weeks, but we are back on track! For all of you following Maple’s journey…this update is for you! As many of you know, Maple was being cared for at the Oneida County Humane Society, but unfortunately, was having a rough time adjusting to shelter life. Operation K-911 stepped in to help and boy are we excited to tell you about this sweet girl!

Maple has successfully been weaned from all her meds and is adjusting to “home” life, as is clearly depicted in the picture 😂. She is also quite the cuddler! She enjoys being a lap dog and nuzzling her head into your neck while you give her a hug.

She has been successfully crate trained. We are still working on potty training, but she has very few accidents throughout the day which is great!

Maple has three foster brothers that keep her quite busy and will be starting her training this week! We have made some observations in the last couple weeks. First, Maple has done fairly well with cats! We have been working on some desensitization training with her, and she has done great! Although it will ultimately be up to OCHS whether she can be adopted out to a home with cats, we are quite confident after her training she will be able to peacefully coexist with a cat or two! Second, Maple is quite the strong little lady! Operation K-911 advised OCHS she will require some extensive training in order to get her up to s***f and not end up back in the shelter! We want Maple to be successful so we are going to take the necessary steps and time to make sure she gets the training she needs! We have also noticed Maple has some protection behaviors and resource guarding which will need to be addressed. But don’t worry! Operation K-911 is on the case! These are all behaviors that will go away on their own as Maple progresses through her training.

Today we said goodbye to an oldie, but goodie. Hershey, our German Shorthaired Pointer/Weimaraner mix, was our first family dog. There was never a pair of shoes he did not fetch, nor a tennis ball that he would drop freely. He was Grandma Dolly’s “pettin’ dog.” He would drown before he stopped swimming and run until the sun would set. He also drank more water than any dog known to man. His brother, Patch, started the fights…Hershey was the muscle and finished them. He was the best first dog we could have ever had. Hershey, you will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten. Rest easy, Old Man Taters. 🥲💙

Blue Heelers have a tendency to nip at small children and the back of people’s legs. But there’s a reason for this! They are herding dogs and utilize this “tool” to redirect us humans. Luckily, Trudy has some great manners, and maybe a few less teeth, so she’s not a threat! 😆

Good news, folks!!! Operation K-911’s meet and greet with Maple went extremely well!!! Next week, Maple will be fostered by our team until she finds her forever home. She will go through our basic obedience training while she is being fostered in preparation for her adoption. And to sweeten the deal, Operation K-911 will provide the new owner/owners with 3 free sessions and 1 follow-up session of training so she can be a GREAT dog for life!!! 🚨PUP OF THE WEEK ALERT!!! 🚨Everyone meet TRUDY!!! This spunky lil Blue Heeler belongs to Kelly & Tyler Knobeck, owners of the The Bottled Bean in Minocqua! You may have spotted her on their merch, but if you haven’t, I guess it’s time for you to stop in for a coffee, a craft beer, or a cocktail! Trudy was a surrender from an Amish farm and landed in the hands of this wonderful family. She’s the bestest mascot ever, but that’s not hard when you have such wonderful owners!
