NEW PRICING ALERT

Goes into effect Monday, Nov 21st

Due to rising costs, At Play with Sparky will be adjusting our pricing starting next week. The most significant change will be that our multiple pet discount will be reduced from 50% off to 25% off. This discount is still higher than most of the other facilities in our area.

The other major change to our policies will be that playcare passes will now have an expiration date. 30 day passes will expire 6 months from the date of purchase. All other playcare passes will expire 3 months from the date of purchase.

New daycare and boarding rates will be as follows:

Playcare (single day): $32

5 day pass: $150 ($30/day)

15 day pass: $405 ($27/day)

30 day pass: $720 ($24/day)

Boarding: (includes playcare) $50/night

Boarding with a pass: $18/night

Weekly Boarding Rate: $300/week

Extended Boarding Rate (8+ nights): $43/night

Cat Boarding will increase slightly as well.

We recently upgraded our bathing area with a new groom tub and sink. We are also excited to add new deluxe runs to our facility. These should be installed by the end of the year and will offer a great alternative to chainlink.

We currently have 75+ dogs on our waiting list, as well as daily waitlists for daycare and boarding (existing customers), so our goal is attract new staff members so we can accommodate more dogs.

Seeking active and reliable staff for our busy doggie daycare. Must love dogs, be able to work in all weather conditions, have dependable transportation and be able to work holidays and weekends. Duties include monitoring play groups, cleaning, bathing, etc. Plan on getting dirty and having fun! Ideal candidates will put the dogs at ease, get along well with the other staff and with clients, be able to keep to a schedule during their shift and be capable of learning dog's names and personalities.

Hi everyone, it’s Tara! I’m so excited to announce that I recently started publishing my fiction. My latest release is The Things I Do for Her. The story is about friendship, death, growing up, moving on and falling in love. But it’s also about DOGS! 😛
The protagonist opens a doggie daycare (they say write what you know) and dogs feature prominently in the novel. My old-timers may even recognize that the dog-tagonist is based on Sweetpea, who used to be our “shop dog” at Sparkys. There are many pups based on clients I’ve cared for over the years, so this makes this novel one of the favs I’ve written.

Due to the tricky weather over the next few days, we just want to let everyone know what to expect:
Our hours will be limited. Call before you come to make sure someone is available.
Our staff will be limited. It’s uncertain when (or how many) of our staff will be able to get to Sparkys due to poor road conditions. If you must bring your pup in, be sure to speak to someone to make those arrangements before you come. Because we will be incredibly short-staffed, it may take a couple tries to reach someone. Feel free to reach out on Facebook.
Our staff’s safety is of upmost importance, so we will likely close early Sunday and Monday so they can travel home safely before it gets dark. Check Facebook often for updates on what time we will open and close.
But don’t worry! The dogs will be well loved and cared for no matter what. And they will love romping in the snow!

Busy doggie daycare is hiring part & full time employees. Must be able to work in all weather conditions, have a flexible schedule and of course, love dogs. Hello pet families! As you may have already seen on social media, or gotten notices from your veterinarian, there are some new strains of bordetella/canine influenza going around. In order to do our best to prevent an outbreak within our facility, we ask that any dog who is experiencing any coughing (even mild coughing), hacking, loss of appetite, unusually low energy level, eye discharge, or a runny nose, please stay home until you can be certain they have not contracted anything. Early symptoms show as a hacking sound like there’s something stuck in the back of their throat, especially when they are excited. Please feel free to email us with any questions you may have, and thank you for understanding and for helping us keep everyone healthy!

Regarding appointments;
They should be made at least 24 hours in advance when possible. If not, call our office to check availability. You can cancel an appointment on the portal. Please call us if cancellation through the portal is not possible. After 3 no shows clients will be required to save a card on file and subsequent no shows will be automatically charged half the rate for the booked service.

Here are two basic reminders going forward:
We now require advance appointments for daycare.
We will be closed from 11am-1pm each day in order to handle pup lunches and take care of other important tasks.
