Had the great pleasure of having a couple of friends and legends of the aquarium industry stop by the house for a quick visit. I clearly remember reading Bruce's articles when I first got into the hobby. Still amazes me that I've been lucky enough to become friends with people that I used to just follow.

Cleaned up what has to be the most baffling equipment setup I've ever seen. So many problems I could never fit it all here. One that you can't see is that one pump is plumbed into the inlet of the chiller and another pump into the outlet, there was no way for water to flow! Everything actually works now and its so much quieter! We also cleaned up so much unnecessary clutter and freed up a ton of room.
Update on the Sea Turtle project we've been involved with, just keep swimming little dudes!
In the next few months we will be telling you a lot more about our conservation programs. People who care, people who want to make a difference, are no longer able to simply recreational dive and move on.
Dominica has been immune from so many of the worlds problems for so long. Helped by our remote location, lack of pollution, deep cooler water and lack of over development. However, as we also start to see the effects of climate change we are changing the way we dive. If you are passionate about the ocean and want to learn more, come and dive with us!
In the meantime. Over the first few months of 2022 we had 6 turtles staying with us in our tanks. Working with Jake Levenson, DOMSETCO and the Fisheries Division, Desiree fed and raised 6 tiny little hatchlings called washbacks. This means they were the weakest and last ones of the nest and did not have the strength to reach the ocean.
Incredibly they all thrived and grew up to an average of about 8 inches long before being released in May with satellite tags.
Will you look at where they went!! Can you imagine 8 inches long and swimming all the way to Columbia.

Thrilled to have completed this project with in Dominica for Sea Turtle conservation and research! We had a great time working and diving in the Soufriere-Scott's Head Marine Reserve (SSMR) and its all that sweeter knowing its for a good cause!
