This young man was found a couple of weeks ago around 10th and L Rd. He is estimated to be a young adult (5-7) based on his teeth and he is neutered. Very friendly! Definitely had a home at one point! If this is your kitty please contact the Aurora Veterinary Clinic at 402-694-2134.

Wishing all of our clients a Happy 4th of July! Enjoy your celebrations, but please don’t forget about the pets that might not enjoy the holiday as much. Here’s some good tips to keep in mind!

The clinic will be closed tomorrow for the holiday, but an on call veterinarian can be reached for emergencies only at 402-694-2134! Normal business hours will be resumed on Friday.

We once again have sad news to share. Our sweet Angus crossed the rainbow bridge today. We noticed that he wasn’t himself the last couple of days, and upon doing some bloodwork discovered he was in kidney failure. We are taking comfort in knowing he is reunited with his best friend Skid ❤️🌈.

Angus wasn’t the most affectionate creature… unless you had treats of course! He hated being held or snuggled, would frequently take a good swipe at any canine friends who dared to venture too close to him, and would have lived strictly on a diet of only Greenies treats if he had the choice. We will miss his companionship at the front desk. 💕

It is with great sadness that we share that our sweet old friend “Skiddy” has crossed the rainbow bridge. Our hearts hurt, but his health was declining and we know he is now comfortable at rest ❤️.

Skiddy lived his whole life at the AVC and brought smiles to many of the clients who came through our doors. You could usually find him snuggled up somewhere for a good nap, on the hunt for a lap to lay on, or curled up in carriers that did not belong to him (he was famous for that! 🤣). He loved to “perch” on the shoulders of the girls up front, especially at lunch time when he was lucky enough to steal a bite or two of whatever they were eating. Chicken nuggets were his favorite! He will be missed. ❤️

One of our largest canine patients came in today for vaccinations 😍. If you zoom in on that scale you will see that Rip weighs a whopping 243 lbs! He is a big boy, but he is all love and he brought a lot of smiles to the office today! (Don’t mind the drool string on his nose, he didn’t know he was signed up for a photo op today 😉).

This kitty was found in a cornfield near Cottonwood Assisted Living in Central City. She is a female with no collar or microchip, but is very friendly. If you recognize this girl please give us a call at 402-694-2134! She will be housed and fed by the Good Samaritan who found her until she is claimed 😊

We want to congratulate Dr. Dani Bourek and her husband Dr. Jared Bourek on the birth of their beautiful baby girl Jordan Mae. 💖 We couldn’t be happier for you two! Dr. Bourek will be spending the next couple of months out of the clinic with their new bundle of joy! 😊

Drs. Pachta and Sholes will be doing their best to continue to service all of our large and small animal clients in her absence. Please be patient with them and the AVC staff as we do our best to meet the needs of all of your four-legged friends and livestock!

Edited to add: We are sorry to report that the described dog had been found deceased yesterday morning on Highway 34 between S and T roads. No pictures are being provided for this reason. We had hoped to find the owner based on description so we could deliver this news in person. However, at this time we are putting all of the info out there in hopes of finding the owner so we can fulfill their final wishes for their pet. Please share, and contact the clinic with any questions. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the owner of this beautiful pup ❤️.

We are seeking the owner of a dark brown (almost black) and white, speckled, male suspected pit/heeler mix. The dog is not wearing a collar or any form of identification and is not microchipped.
