This is why we can’t have nice things.
Olive is lucky that Sam has the patience of a Saint.

Nighttime Tilly turkey snuggles
The 3 musketeers will soon be climbing trees in the woods.
Charlie horse is feeling fine 💙
Little Bonita had a relaxing bubble bath, blow dry, and the best “preening” I could manage. Due to her extreme scissor beak deformity, she is fed a soupy mash with scrambled eggs for extra protein and cannot clean her own feathers. I think she enjoyed the pampering.
Feeding time for babies! 🐰🐰
Baby bunny was brought to me May 30th suffering from hypothermia and pneumonia. Each breath was practically a painful gasp. I did not expect him to survive the hour so I just kept him warm waiting for him to go. After a hour of labored breathing I gave him a nebulizer treatment of antibiotics. Much to my surprise within 3 hours he was breathing normally and hungry!!
He opened his eyes 2 days later and kept a great appetite. Today he hitched a ride with Scotty to the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at Lees McRae College where he will have his best shot of surviving. Good luck little baby!!
(If you find orphaned/injured wildlife please bring it to the center mentioned above. Keep warm and Do not attempt to feed it.)
Luna came to us May 11, 2021. She was terribly neglected and starved with a body score of 1. The Veternarian recommended euthanasia. We wanted to give her a chance to live out what short time she had left loved and with a full belly.
She spent yesterday soaking up the sunshine with Jolie, grazing, and happy. This morning we found that during the night she had crossed the rainbow bridge.
My only regret is that despite all the emails, pictures, and proof of neglect I sent to local authorities and beyond, Luna received no justice for her prior owners actions.
She will be missed.💕
It wasn’t too long ago that Jolie was struggling to walk. We had strongly considered euthanasia and even had the appointment set up. I love seeing her be able to run.
Arnie is a 2 year old hen that is trying to live her best life on the sanctuary. Currently Arnie is back in the ICU (also known as my laundry room) Some may remember seeing her on here when we had her treated a year ago at the Vet. This nasty growth/infection is relentless and she needs to go back to the Vet. Draining and antibiotics are not working. We’re going to have to go all out and say remove it all and what will be, will be. If you’re able to help with her Vet cost it would be greatly appreciated. We will be using Mountain Empire Large Animal HospitalI in Johnson City TN for her. I want to try to give Arnie a chance at a normal life. Thank you!
