(This goes for every small buisness, from the horse industry to your local candle maker…… cut them some slack cuz we are dieing over here)
Full time Farriers all over the country are hanging up their aprons.
Clients are complaining about price increases all over the country not understanding that we arnt getting any richer. We are staying afloat.
If people only knew that we eat a lot of cost because we love our clients and our job…. We wouldn’t be met with so much irritation.
I am an in demand farrier along with many of my talented Colleagues . Our clients become family and none of us want to raise our prices.
You won’t see me complaining to my mechanic or any other small business for raising rates….. because I get it.
My fuel bill on a average is 2000 a month.
Inventory can range from 1000-1500 a month
My rig payment is 500 a month
I cover a 3 hour radius
So my total expenses for just having a buisness is 3500-4000 a month.
That doesn’t count my normal living bills.
If full time dedicated and educated farriers keep hanging up their aprons…..
Quality work will be harder to find.
And if you do find quality work it will be much more expensive than 150.00 a full set.
Hell or high water I will continue to sling iron. And you’ll have to pry my apron and rasp from my cold dead hands……. But please understand that inflation is a bitch for all of us.
