She has taught many birds how to talk, play games and learn to fly. Her passion as a steward of these magnificent creatures is her life's focus, so much so that in 2007 she sold her business and dedicated her time to just taking care of the birds! The sale of her business enabled her to buy a larger house with more room to care for the birds. In addition to this new, larger location, she built on an addition specifically "For The Birds" =)
Outdoor "fair weather" aviaries are planned for future construction as finances allow. Once Upon A Wing is dedicated to the personal care, nutrition, health care, housing, and toys for each of the birds that live at the sanctuary. This is a sizable expense. Any and all donations monetary or otherwise are greatly appreciated. One of the ways we raise funds for our sanctuary birds is by offering Oregonians a fun and loving environment for your feathered kids while you are away from home. We ask that you please have a copy of a recent (within 3 months) veterinarian record showing your bird is in good health and is free from any and all possible contagious ailments. This is for the protection of our sanctuary birds as well as other birds visiting in the bird resort. We require this of ALL birds to protect your birds as well. We charge $20 a day for medium to large birds and $15 a day for small birds. We give a 10% discount for our cash paying clients. We have pick up and delivery service available for $20 each way. Payment in full for your booking is required upon arrival. We accept PayPal.
