For those of you who have wondered what has happened with Harriette's Dream, we have been extremely busy in our first year of operation! Check out our 2023 newsletter, which highlights some of the grants we have distributed and provides an update on what is going on. https://mailchi.mp/4d66ed2ca425/harriettes-dream-fund_newsletter1

Also, visit our website at www.harriettesdream.com - you can sign up for our annual newsletter or make a donation (Arkansas Community Foundation administers the fund and is a tax-deductible 501c3). With your help, we can keep supporting small charities doing amazing work for many years to come!

Harriette's Dream Fund makes grants to organizations that serve people in need, help animals in need, or foster the human-animal bond, primarily in Northwest Arkansas. We have a Donor Advisory Committee and do not accept unsolicited proposals.

While Horses for Healing has closed, Harriette's Dream is still alive! The assets from the sale of the Horses for Healing property have been placed into a grant-making fund within Arkansas Community Foundation. In mid-April, Harriette's Dream Charitable Fund became a reality! The Funds mission is to support people in need, animals in need, and the human-animal bond. In the past month, we have made 6 grants: Saving Grace; Trike Theater; Hugs Cafe; Bella Vista Animal Shelter; Boston Mountain Youth Ranch; and Table 7Three. A donation was also made to support the work of Trident Creek Horse Rescue prior to getting the fund established. If you would like to find out more about what we do and who we are supporting, visit our website at www.harriettesdream.com. (Please note that at this time, we are not accepting unsolicited grant requests. All of our grants are distributed based on recommendations by a Donor Advisory Committee.)

This is Our Final Farewell.
The Horses for Healing era has now come to an end. The farm has a fabulous new owner, Toni Clark, who has her own dreams for the facility. All of our horses have been placed in new homes, and we couldn't have asked for better adopters. Back in October, our horses were among our biggest worries since many of them have special needs, whether due to age, medical conditions, or personality. Yet, each one has found what we would have listed as an ideal new home. I firmly believe that God has watched over all of us throughout this transition! It's hard to believe it has only been 4 months. So much has changed and we have so much excitement for the future!

We just sent our final newsletter out, including a farewell from Harriette, a welcome and introduction from Toni, and news about the new Harriette's Dream fund. You can read the newsletter at https://mailchi.mp/a680dc288ce2/hfh-newsletter-winter-9549202.

We can't say it enough times: Thank you all for your support over the years. We wish you all the best!

We handed the keys over to the new owner on January 27, and I am besieged with emotions! One final look back at 30 years of serving the community – the blood, sweat and tears were a reality. But the main feeling I am left with is GRATITUDE!!! Gratitude to those who entrusted us with their children...

I'm a little slow getting this posted, but it has been a busy time. As of January 27, the Horses for Healing property is now NWA Stables and Equestrian Center, owned and operated by Toni Clark. It was bittersweet turning the keys over to her, but we could not have asked for a better outcome. Toni will continue offering boarding services along with lessons and training, compliments of Chloe Hodge and Amy Walsh. Later this year, Toni is planning on starting another therapeutic riding program. What could be better?

As for us, we are working on plans to start a grant-making fund with the proceeds from the sale of the property. More information to come soon (we hope!), but we are excited about the prospects to help other non-profits in a tangible way. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of this journey over the last 30 years. We hope you'll keep in touch!

Who is ready for pony trick or treating at our Fall Festival this Saturday???

It was a chilly day but the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter still came out for their weekly program and made the most of it by helping us decorate for Halloween! Thank you to those who purchased fall festival items off our Amazon charity list. Your support means so much!

Thank you Sam's Club for spending your office service day with us! Their group cleared out rocks from one of the pastures which will help keep our herd safe and their hooves healthy. Your CPOs (Chief Pony Officers🐴) say: "job well done" and "you rock!"

Throwing some pony love into your feed 🤍 Zelda is a great partner for the kids in our program! She is confident and extroverted but also kind and attuned to everything a child communicates to her. Her being fun-sized is just an added bonus!

Here are a few snaps we were able to capture from our booth at Downtown Bentonville Incorporated’s First Friday! Look at all those smiling faces! We loved meeting families (furry friends too! 🐾) and sharing the importance of creating a more connected, healthy and compassionate community through the healing power of horses.

Our booth would not have been possible withouth the generous help of many individuals. Special thanks to the following:

⭐️ Our Marketing and Events Intern Greer Babione for taking on First Friday and doing all the behind-the-scenes work.
⭐️ Amber Goff and Candy Singletary for your craftiness and providing us with donation items. You two always step up to the plate in a big way!
⭐️ Galloping Gumdrops Bakery for providing the beautiful horse cookies! They were a huge hit!
⭐️ Dare Devil Display Works for our banner.
⭐️ Our incredible volunteers that spent their evening working our booth.

It's with a very heavy heart that we share Milo passed away peacefully yesterday morning.

Milo practically grew up at Horses for Healing, making it hard to even begin to count how many lives he touched. Milo's sweet nature and calming presence made him an irreplaceable program pony. We will miss pulling through the gates and Milo not being there to greet us in the front pasture, donkeys by his side, but his legacy will live on forever.

Please feel free to share your favorite photos and memories in the comments. Here are a few photos of Milo through the years that capture his personality. 🤍

Thank you Phi Gamma Delta for volunteering your time at HFH and supporting our mission! These guys spent an afternoon with Juan fixing fences and feed pens in our pastures as well as leveling out the round pen. Their work will help keep the horses safe in their pastures and the round pen more accessible for lessons. It was a pleasure and we hope to see you out at the farm again soon!

It was an absolute pleasure hosting the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter earlier this week. The staff and volunteer’s hearts are so full seeing kids back at the barn for fall programs. We can’t wait to see the connections that form between the kids and horses each week.
