The month of April FLEW by, and a lot happened here at the farm! On April 21 the NWADC was here hosting a dressage show, in which some of our riders were able to participate! For some, it was their first show, for others, we saw huge improvements from their first show last year, to this! We were also excited to have a great turnout at our annual golf tournament on Friday the 27th, a big congratulations to our winning teams, and thank yous to our sponsors and volunteers for making this a big success! Another exciting thing happened that Friday - around 40 people from Black Hills Energy visited our farm and did a TON of work! Not only did they beautify the grounds through some landscaping, mowing, painting, and general backbreaking labor, but they also constructed several new sensory obstacles for our therapeutic riders to explore! We're so excited to have such a great start to our sensory trails, and would not have been able to do it without the help of our donors and the Black Hills Energy team's hard work! Thank you!!!! We can't wait to get all of our horses accustomed to the new space and be able to have classes in this new sensory enriched environment!
On Sunday we held our volunteer appreciation luncheon at the farm, and were so thankful for such a gorgeous day! Who knew we'd be sitting outdoors in the sunshine, at nearly 60 degrees in January! We were excited to honor several of our volunteers who have gone above and beyond for our children and our program. A special congratulations and thank you to Kim, Rob, Christa, and Lane for all that you do for us!
Did you know our program serves hundreds of children every year? We wouldn't be able to do it without our exceptional volunteers! If you'd like to get involved as a volunteer, please contact Elaine, our Volunteer Coordinator, at [email protected] We hope to see you soon!
The horses were pleased to have a little snow yesterday morning! We hope you enjoy their antics - we sure did!
Is it really November already? It seems like October went by in the blink of an eye! We're very thankful to all of the volunteers and groups who came out to donate their time helping out at our farm during October. We had some gorgeous days, which allowed for a ton of progress outdoors. Our hope is that children will soon be able to enjoy a stroll out back and experience nature from the back of a horse! Thank you to the United Way, Black Hills Energy, Walmart, the Young Mens Service League, Bentonville 4-H, University of Arkansas students, and all of our volunteers who make it possible for Horses for Healing to have so much fun with the children who ride with us!
