About 10 years ago, I met Wilfred when his owners called about working with their new husky. Revelator was a brand new company and I was eager to get some trainings under my belt. Huskies are often known to be a challenging breed to train, but have always held a place in my heart. So, Wilfred and I were off and running.

Having already known Wilfreds dad, I had the opportunity to see him here and there over the years. Wilfred was proof positive of the bond a dog can have with a handler, as Wilfred was always happy to see me, no matter how long it had been. And being one of the first dogs I trained while establishing my business, he remained very special to me.

I received a message earlier this week that Wilfred was not doing well, and his time here was coming to an end. I got the opportunity to say goodbye to my buddy last night. And though he moves slower than he used to, he got that same old look in his eyes. Thank you for helping me become a trainer, Wilfred. And thank you for being the best boy.

Did some work with Ollie this morning for his Christmas photo shoot. Ollie is about halfway through a program and this morning showed the time and dedication his owners have been putting into his training. Plus, hes a handsome little guy.

Earlier this year, I had the fortune of training Stella. Already having a soft spot for rottie's, Stella cemented my love for the breed. This little girl was full of energy, curiosity and was an unbelievably sweet little girl. Her owners needed help with rambunctious Stella and her mastiff sister, who was not necessarily on board with having a little sister around. But both took right to training and started to build a relationship.

Stella was beside herself with excitement when we started each session. I loved seeing her grow and take to the training, building an even stronger bond with owners that loved her no matter how much of a little pain in the butt she could be.

Stella passed this morning from unexpected health issues. News like this is never easy to get. But seeing this precious little rottweiler face looking up, waiting to get to work was the highlight of the days I worked with her and I won't soon forget that. My deepest condolences to her family, who lived her more than anything. Rest in peace, sweet Stella.

Dogs like Coal are why I got into training. Coal was incredibly reactive and not a dog many wanted to or were equipped to take on. But his new family had him as a foster and were committed to making his life better. He needed the time. He needed owners with patience, but also those that wouldn't back down. To say Coal gave them a run for their money would be an understatement. But they met the challenge head on, called me to work with them and Coal, and now Coal has been officially adopted into their family. I thank them for letting me be a part of his process and I thank Coal for reminding me what it is that I truly love about training.

Posts like this are never easy. The world lost a special dog yesterday. Nova was part of the extended Revelator family . Her owner, aside from being a very dear friend, was also the best dog dad out there. Though she lived a state away, I always looked forward to Nova posts to see what she was up to. We didn't just lose a good girl. We lost the best girl. Rest easy, sweet girl.

Hope everyone is safe and healthy.

While getting Revelator off the ground, I did some contracting work for a wonderful dog walking company. In Sept 2018, I added walking as a service to Revelator. October of that year, Dewey came on board. Dew was always happy to see me, as long as I didn't expect her to move too quick and had her cookie waiting when I left.

I'm happy to see all the dogs on my schedule, and Dew was no exception. Though, where most are waiting anxiously at the door, I would often have to wake Dewey up, give her time to stretch, figure out who I was and why I was waking her, then get a slow tail wag as she got up from her bed.

Last week, Dewey left us. She had been in pain for some time, though she was tough about it. It's strange not seeing her name every morning when I look at my book. Not seeing the copious drool when she knew it was time for her treat. But, Dewey doesn't hurt anymore. I'm just glad I got to be a part of her life. See you later, Dewey.
