Update on Rain:

Dentist- She saw the dentist on 8-9-21 and there was one tooth on the top that had been ground down pretty far by a long tooth on the bottom. The dentist shaved some long spots and sharp spots down. Besides normal wear on the teeth for a horse of her age, everything checked out great!

Farrier- Rain saw the farrier on 8-11-21 and he did a routine visit. Everything went great!

Update on rescue #1;
-she has been named “Rain💜”
-the vet came out this past Monday and gave her an antibiotic shot for her discharge from her nose. We had already dewormed her so the vet didn’t give her another dose. The vet is concerned about a growth on one of her hooves. We will be getting a second opinion.
-we will give another update once the farrier is able to make it out
-Rain is loving her landing place and her pasture mate 💜

Some more pictures of our girl! She is a total sweet heart and settling in quite nicely! She has spent her day eating some hay, high fat feed, a few handfuls of grass and drinking clean fresh water. We brushed her down and fly sprayed her. She got a dose of dewormer and the vet comes out on Monday! I added a couple pictures from different angles to try to show just how thin she is.

Our first rescue horse is an Appaloosa mare. Upon arrival in Kentucky where we met the people who transported her there from Texas, we quickly realized she was in much worse condition than originally expected. Here are some pictures of her. We are waiting to hear back from the vets office to see when the soonest they can come out is. We will keep you all updated!

Dear friends, unfortunately the truck that was suppose to transport our first rescue horse had some problems and was delayed two days. She is now due to leave Texas later today, Wednesday July 7th 2021! She should make it to us sometime tomorrow!! 🐴

Our first rescue horse will be here early next week! She was saved on 6/26/21 and was due to be shipped to a Mexico slaughter house on 6/28/21.
The volunteers who were networking her to get her a home (after being bought at a auction by a contracted kill buyer,) said this about her;

She is an approximately 16 year old Appaloosa mare. She had been broke as a young horse but has been used as a brood mare for the last several years.

In the video which is now deleted, since she is now saved, the man rides her bare back, stands on her back and ducks down and walks under her! She is said to only need a refresher and should make a nice riding horse.
