Our new adventure begins! 🐾
Over the weekend, we began running our existing group classes at our new facility. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from the community. We can’t thank you enough for spreading the word about our classes and being patient with us through this transition phase. We see you and we appreciate you! 🖤
We are so excited to continue to build up our train & play program, which is unlike any other in the area, as well as our kitchen!
There will be so many exciting updates coming over the next few months, so stay tuned to see what’s next!
We wouldn’t be here without all of our amazing pet parents who continue to show up for our classes and refer your friends and family to us. We are so grateful!
Cheers to 265 Boston Road, and cheers to making the world a better place for our pups 🥂

✨ TIPS FOR FIREWORK SAFETY ✨
With a little help from our friends 🐾
🎆 Make sure your pets are secured inside your home.
Even in a fenced in yard, your pup could get spooked and escape.
🎆 Give them a safe space to hide. Set up a room or a crate they can hide in and be comfortable.
🎆 Use ambient noise to mask the sound of the fireworks. There are many YouTube videos or playlists on streaming services that you can play on your TV or speakers to help mask the sounds of the fireworks outside.
🎆 Update identification tags and microchips. Shelters report an increase in lost dogs around the 4th of July, so make sure someone would be able to contact you if this were to happen!
🎆 Skip the celebration and stay home with your pup! Sometimes your presence can make all the difference.
🎆 Keep them Busy! Enrichment like lick mats, puzzle toys, snuffle mats and Kong can keep them focused on something other than the noise. Licking has a calming effect on dogs, so if they’re really anxious a lick mat could do the trick!
🎆 Homemade enrichment works just as well! You could set up a maze with their dinner in your home, or make enrichment with egg cartons or toilet paper rolls!
Happy 4th from our family to yours! We hope you enjoy the weekend with your pups 🐾🖤

With Shane Hibbert – I just got recognized as one of their top fans! 🎉
Introductions of two dogs with one dog that may be aggressive, reactive, nervous or afraid can be scary for the pet parent. 😱
Slow methodical and well-timed introductions can be a great way to overcome those fears, nervousness and help not only the dog but help the pet parent understand their dog better.
🐕🐩Every dog is different. Have different emotions experiences throughout their lifetime and different training needs.
We need to approach each introduction with care, responsibility and respect.
We use counter conditioning and desensitization to slowly introduce two dogs, and now they have a lovely friendship that can last for their lifetime.
Reach out to find out how you can help your pup with their unique struggle.

Rocket got a new ball! He loves it!
Let’s feed Rocky and Champ!
Did you know that proper nutrition can actually make a big impact on canine behavior? Let’s talk about it 👇🏻
Feeding your pup a proper, balanced diet can influence everything from energy levels, cognitive function, digestive health, hormonal imbalance, mood, and overall wellbeing.
A proper balance of carbohydrates, fiber, and protein can maintain blood sugar levels, meaning no spikes or crashes in energy levels due to stable blood sugar levels.
Adding in Omega-3 fatty acid is critical for brain function and development, which can help ease anxiety and depression in your furry friend.
A diet that supports good digestive health can prevent discomfort and pain which lead to irritability.
A proper diet can influence hormone balance, which can affect behavior because of the rise and fall of essential hormones like dopamine and serotonin which regulate stress responses.
Proteins are vital for muscle development and repair and contain essential amino acids. High-quality protein sources can encourage a calm and balanced demeanor, while low quality proteins can lead to hyperactive behavior.
Food sensitivities and allergies can cause gastrointestinal issues, discomfort and itching which can lead to irritability and anxiety.
Feeding a proper and well balanced diet doesn’t have to be difficult or overly expensive, as most of the items in this video can be purchased right at your local grocery store!
We are not vets, so please always do your research and talk to your vet before making any major dietary changes for your pup, but this is what works for us!
We’re always here to help, so if you have any questions feel free to drop them in the comments, and be sure to follow along for updates on nutrition classes as well as training coming soon! 🐾

Sibling rivalry has its truths and myths. The biggest truth is that it is darn hard to raise two puppies. Double the effort, double the work load, double the demand. Each dog with their own personalities and a one size fits all training is not the way we should look at raising 2 puppies. Reach out for more info.

Harness 101: What do we recommend and why?
All harnesses are not created equal. Most harnesses on the market that are marketed as “no pull” or “easier walking” are restricting the dog’s natural walk and movement.
Harnesses such as the EZ walk, restrict the dog’s movement at the shoulders when pressure and tension is put on the leash which can eventually lead to joint issues and arthritis.
When these harnesses are clipped from the back, they are squeezing the dog’s shoulder blades together and can cause issues for the spine.
So what harnesses do we recommend instead?
We love to use a 3 point harness that has front and back clips.
When the harness has a clip around the neck, you can reduce stress for dogs that don’t like things going over their heads.
Secondly, and SO importantly, this harness doesn’t impede the natural movement of the shoulder blades, allowing your dog’s body to move the way nature intended for them to move.
The shape of this harness is also creating a much more balanced weight distribution so it isn’t pulling back at their shoulders and causing any tension on the spine or surrounding joints.
Having a front and a back clip also means this harness can grow with your dog. The front clip is great for training because it redirects your dog’s attention to you when they begin to pull, so you can work on your loose leash walking. You can always graduate to the back clip when your dog is comfortable with loose leash walking.
The fit of your harness is also extremely important! Don’t forget, you should be able to easily get 2 fingers into the harness while the dog is wearing it.
Ensuring the proper fit of your harness is essential to the dog’s comfort and safety and your ability to effectively manage them on a walk.
What questions do you have about the harness? Let us know in the comments 👇🏻🐾
