It’s with a heavy heart that I write this post. I have been debating on how I wanted to navigate this, but I have decided to close down this page and North Georgia Shepherds. You may or may not have noticed that I haven’t posted much on here lately, but back in early December an incident occurred between Zeke and an Amazon delivery driver and I was told by the insurance company not to have any GSDs here. It was 100% not Zeke’s fault due to the circumstances and he thought he was just protecting me, but I do feel bad for the guy and understand his position as well. I was able to find Zeke a great home with a husband and wife who I worked with at the fire department and they love him dearly, but it definitely hurts my heart not to have him here with me. If you know of any Shepherds who need rescue, send me a message and I can put you in contact with other organizations that I collaborated with.

Hi, I’m Lily, a beautiful and sweet 7 year old German Shepherd who loves people and other dogs. I’m house trained and playful, yet gentle and super loyal. My owner is elderly and recently had a fall. He needs to go to a rehabilitation facility for a month or two and desperately needs a loving foster home for me for awhile. Rico is a young neutered male GSD looking for his forever home. He was found out off a forest service road several months ago by a local deputy who took him in and got him healthy. He is great with kids, other dogs, and playful with cats but not aggressive. He is smart and loves to play ball. He has been taken to the vet and fully vaccinated. Bernstein (Bernie) is 14 months old. He was abandoned and picked up as a stray. He was emaciated and full of worms. We have vaccinated , dewormed, and gotten him tested for heartworm. He is negative. He will be neutered before adoption. He is great with other dogs and ignores cats. He loves everyone he meets. Contact 970-290-0248. Vet reference will be required for adopter as he was already neglected once. He needs a loving home.

I’ve had several people ask me if I had any rescues lately but lost track. Sweet Kimber (from our final litter) was returned to us because her family is having to move somewhere that doesn’t allow GSDs. They love her dearly and she’s been well taken care of. She has a great temperament and knows basic commands. She turned a year old in June.

Greetings HSBR Community! We have some EXCITING NEWS!!! Our New and Improved, Turfed, Off-Leash Dog Park is NOW OPEN!!!!

Hours of Operation:

8 AM - 7 PM
Summer Irrigation Cooling Schedule: Noon and 4 PM daily for (ten minutes)

Our new park is located across the street from the "old" dog park, on our campus at 171 Mineral Springs Rd, Blue Ridge, GA 30513

The new turf does get hot in these extreme temperatures, so please use caution when taking your dog to the park during the peak hours of the sun and heat. As noted above, we will be cooling the turf down each day at Noon and 4 PM.

Family reunion at the dog park yesterday. It was amazing to see Karma remember Zeke and play the same way they used to. She wouldn’t play with any other dogs.

This sweet girl was a pup from one of our previous litters. She was named after me, Montana, and lives up to her name because she can be pretty rotten at times. She just turned two and unfortunately her owner is having some serious medical issues and needs to rehome her. She knows basic commands and is very smart but is protective of her people and has a lot of puppy energy in her. She has had 8 weeks of professional training, is spayed, and up to date on all vaccinations. If you’re interested in meeting Montana, shoot me a message to set up an appointment.

HELP Hello his name is Marvel He is anAkc registered German shepherd with amazing parents. His human parents are having to move into an apartment due to unforeseen circumstances and they don’t allow these type of dogs. He is around 1 1/2 year old, beautiful male dog. Seems to be good around children, very playful doesn’t know his own strength. Never been around cats ,but has had some training with an e collar, knows some commands and has been around the families children. But they are desperate to find him a good loving home. Meet Kona. She’s a 2 year old female GSD. She is very sweet and loves everyone she meets. Her previous owner passed away recently from Covid and and the wife is feeling a bit overwhelmed adjusting to life without him. Kona went to the vet this week and is up to date on all of her vaccinations as well as heartworm medication. She has been spayed as well. Lindsey got a stuffed animal resembling Beauty for Christmas. We are still waiting on autopsy results from the state. I will be looking to hire someone to paint a mural of her on the wall in the dog kennel once the weather warms up.
