The Montclair Township Animal Shelter is participating in Clear the Shelters until 8/24/24. Any a pet 1 year or older, the adoption fee is waived. All our animals leave here fully vetted spayed/ neutered and all vaccines. We send you home with starter food too. There is an application process and adoption counseling. We look forward to seeing you and making a match! MTAS is open 1 to 4:00;every day ( closed on Wednesday) no appt needed. Our kittens can’t wait to meet you on Saturday 8/3/2024 between 10am-1pm. This adoption event will be held at the Bloomfield Civic Center at 84 Broad St in Bloomfield. Interested adopters are recommend to apply beforehand to guarantee approval. Walk-ins welcome, but not guaranteed.

What to bring- All must bring a Cat Carrier, Rental Agreement showing pet approval, and Photo ID.

September 1, 2024 will make 2 years since Sniper was surrendered to us due to no fault of his own! He came to us a silly, untrained big boy who didn’t know his size, and is now the most behaved and trained boy we have thanks to training with Behavior Plus. PLEASE help him find the home he deserves!

Our best boy Sniper has been with us for almost 2 years! He was surrendered to us in September 2022 due to no fault of his own. He finds himself aging in the shelter. At almost 7-8 years old, he should be spending his retirement in a Furever Home.

Please share far and wide to help him find a home!

We will be dropping off this week...

The Animal Shelter is now collecting donations of dry dog and cat food to benefit the Manna Food Depot!

Since January 2023, the Manna Food Depot and its' volunteers have been providing pet food to local families in need weekly, but can only do so with more help! In just over 1 year, 968lbs of cat food & 2,240lbs of dog food have been given to local families that may otherwise have difficulties keeping their pets at home - that's over 3,000lbs!

We would like to continue this initiative through 2024, and are asking for donations of dry dog and cat food that will directly benefit local families. We are accepting these donations at the shelter on the pantry's behalf, which will be picked up by their volunteers weekly. Please label "pantry" on any donation for this cause.

Thank you to anyone who can spare a bag or two, and thank you to the local non-profit SOBAS 501c3 - Supporters of Bloomfield Animal Shelter for donating the majority of this food on a regular basis.

Donations can be brought to the shelter daily between 8am-6pm. Don’t forget to label them “pantry”!

PAWS TO READ: April and May dates have been posted. The sign-up link is in our bio or below!

PAWS to READ welcomes all school-aged children in grades 2-5, particularly those struggling to read, to our semi-monthly program. Children will be introduced to the Montclair Township Animal Shelter and learn all about animal rescue and animal welfare in general. They will then spend their time reading to our shelter animals to practice their reading skills!
