Joy came to stay with us a couple days ago. She was in another foster home but her foster mom was leaving town for the holidays. I had to change her name because we already have a Sunshine and she would not approve of another kitty named the same as her. Joy is a beautiful, sweet girl but still a little upset at being in the crazy house.

So the kittens and cats got a Christmas scratching pad house. Galene decided she needed a nap after cleaning time was over and all kittens were in bed. Mom Sunshine got to stay out tonight with Coal and Galene. She and Galene had a very rowdy game of chase. Galene found the house on top of her cage and decided it was the perfect napping spot.

My fosters and three feral (former) cats are all jammed in my den and a visiting chihuahua and her brother, Pebbles (now Smoky) and my 3 dogs. Galene and Coal, two of the former ferals, are trying freedom after cage cleaning. Galene has gone into her cage for a nap but Coal found the dog bed I forgot to put on the floor and has snuggled in this morning. The first picture shows how crowded we are with supplies, 8 cat playpen and a dog crate. I couldn't stop taking pictures of Coal. We are in the den while the cat room is being repaired from a bad water leak.

So we have 6 cages of cats crowded in the den while a water leak is being repaired in the cat room. Coal and Galene are enjoying staying out after everyone else is back in their cages. Tonight we played a little and Latte joined in the fun. The dogs wanted to play but we stayed in the cage circle for this game. So far everyone is getting along just fine. My dogs, my cats and the fosters all like each other.

Shelby is a beautiful dilute Tortiseshell cat and is looking for a new home. Her owner passed away recently and as much as his wife loves Shelby, she is allergic to her and has been living with allergy medication for the last three years. She says it is time Shelby finds someone who can spend time with her that can truly enjoy her company without taking medication.
Shelby has been spayed, up to date on vaccinations and is friendly but doesn’t like to be held. She loves to be rubbed but like a lot of cats she is aloof, preferring to lay on a chair or the back of the couch until she wants attention. She does love to sleep on the bed with you at night. She is located in Bolivar, Tennessee but we can work with finding her transportation to her new home.

I got Sunshine some decor for her cage. We decided she may enjoy it more if it just sits outside her cage on a shelf. She loves to have kisses and scratches through the bars or with open door. She just loves. Everyone.

75 pounds of cat food, 80 pounds of cat litter and two new track balls moved into the house and to the cat room. Well, 50 # of food remain in the den to be stored there. And only 80 pounds of litter remain outside to be moved inside. This old lady is getting too old and achy to be doing this!

Sunshine is a fantastic foster mom! She loves the kittens. She cleans them, plays with them, corrects them and tolerates their shenanigans. Tonight they had fun trying to destroy my magic feather corraling toy. Note the feathers all over the floor. Clark and Spencer were right in there with Sunshine. Ross, Chandler, Joey and Chandler weren't far off. They weren't happy with me when I put the toy inside a tote and locked the lid.

Clark and Eddie have settled right into this crazy life. I think they may be related to Cliffy since they were found in the same general vicinity. That and the fact that Cliffy is constantly sniffing them when they first get out. And there has been no hissing and only a couple puffed tails. They both are talking and playing and big cuddlers. Oh, and Clark likes to help clean cages.

I am loving all these alumni updates!!!! These guys are ALL rescues. Four are Kitten Kapers alumni and two are from a very treasured rescue friend in Illinois. The one sitting is Addison (KK name Nora), eyes closed is Yadi (KK name Quinn) next to him is Rooster, then Maverick. Then Javy (KK name Reese) and Nova (KK name) in the way back. They are one big happy family and have several canine brothers (most are HAA alumni)! They all live in Illinois.

Sparkle and Glitter were with us in 2019 and were adopted locally. They landed on top of the world! Now Tiger and Lilly, they look very content with their life!

What a day! I am closed to intake but when there is an emergency, I have to help. A friend was walking down her country road today and heard a call for help. One of her neighbors had fallen in her carport Tuesday afternoon and had lain there for two nights. She called an ambulance and stayed with the lady until they took her to the ER. While the lady laid there, two kittens showed up. One was frightened of her but the other laid on her and helped keep her warm and kept her company through the chilly nights. None of them had food or water. My friend called me about helping the kittens and after such heroic actions from the gray and white one, I couldn't leave them to brave the foxes and coyotes. So welcome to Clark and Eddie. Both are sweethearts and now have full bellies and have been to the vet for first shots. They were very calm while all the others were running free. No more room for any more emergency cases!

How about an update from a Kitten Kapers alumni from a couple years ago! Miss Prissy (now known as Agnes/Aggie) is living like a princess. I visited her yesterday and her mom asked me to put her new palace together. How fitting! Every diva deserves her own palace! (Miss Prissy loved Nova when they were kittens here. Every time Nova so much as touched the tip of her fur, she screamed. He took great delight in her response!) The palace was a hit!

These cats grew up at McDonald's and have been fed there a long time. Until recently, that is. The manager decided to forbid their caregivers permission to continue to feed in their parking lot. Thankfully the church next door values God's creatures and gave permission for the feeding station to move onto their property. Some of these guys have been spayed/neutered and are friendly- but they will need patience in adjusting to new people. We can help with getting those that still need s/n. Can you open your hearts and homes to give these cats a soft place to call their own? Outside is a tough life when you are in an area where not everyone is nice to cats.

The sweet girl is looking for a new, preferably indoor but maybe indoor/outdoor home. Her owner passed away 10 months ago and friends have been seeing to her needs outside since then. She had feline friends that have all found homes but she and one other are still searching. Brindle is gentle and friendly. The other cat is very skiddish and we don't have pictures of it. Tonight the Friends were very active. Rachel was playing with Phoebe but the boys were all over.
Cliffy (standing) and Spencer (laying down) within 5 minutes of meeting for the first time. For the last 2 weeks they have played and snuggled constantly. Sunshine LOVES having kittens to play with again. Coal and Galene are not convinced yet. Visiting Smokey (fka Pebbles) is intrigued with them and enjoys following them as they get into everything. His chihuahua sister, Lil Bit, even enjoys them!
Peace! Finally!
I didn't video them but you get the gist of my house since yesterday afternoon! Saffron was drinking water until close to the end. She has everyone riled up.
This poor unicorn! He has traveled this room. Saffron is obsessed with him! I think Tony, the dog, brought it to the dog bed that is in the cat room. Last night Saffron was dragging it all over. I looked up from cleaning her room and she was dragging it into Rosemary and Tobasco's room! Lil' stinker!
I had different help on the other cage! Never a lack of "help" from the kittens!

The spice kids aren't so spicy anymore. But they are definitely cute. Turn up the volume to hear Miss Rosemary's purr.
The spice kids have a new playpen to use during cleaning time. They are in isolation from the other cats so have to be contained. Their box was no match for Saffron once she figured out how high to jump!
Family bonds
I am cleaning Pirate's cage and Molly and Eli's cage so they come home to clean rooms and can just chill out tonight. I had to move Galene's cage to do her kids cage. She is right next to Sunshine, her mom, for a few. I heard loud purring and looked over to see them loving on each other through the bars. These girls LOVE each other. Coal is included in their bond. This family line has the sweetest personalities and strongest love that I have seen in all the cats that have come through my doors. The minute Galene saw me get my phone to record, she looked towards me. But turn up the volume and you will hear her. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Sunshine loves her cage! I don't know if she will ever want to stay out! She says she has food, water, box, toys and beds. All that with privacy and her favorite track ball close so she can play. This feral girl is loving her life. She insists on kisses and rubs when she comes out so I can clean and jumps back on my lap for a repeat before she goes in!
Charlie's home!
He's home! Charlie still sounds snotty but it is much better! Thanks for all the prayers and support!
Eli is after that feather!
The new toy has lasted through a couple weeks with Pirate when he was quarantined and a couple nights with the bigger kittens. But I bet it doesn't last much longer with Eli in town! He is persistent!
Rainbow and Raindrop with a little Olympia!
I was almost finished cleaning the last cage when I looked over to see who was playing. Rainbow was on her back playing with their track ball. She was too funny!
Galene's big move!
So tonight Galene is starting the best of her life. No more kittens. She moved into a private apartment but has a view of her kids. They are only inches apart but she can finally rest peacefully without them climbing and tumbling all over her. She has eaten, had some water and I'd checking out her new pad. She checked out her toys before her bed!
Good vocal ability.
I have been fussed at for the last hour and a half! Galene was in there trying to shush them until I let her out with her younger sisters. Then Molly and Eli kicked the volume up a tiny bit. Good thing they are so cute.
Galene caught practicing
I keep telling Galene that her life as a single mom is over. Once Molly and Eli leave she can just be a single lady! Tonight I caught her practicing her skills in from of Charlie's cage! And in front of Sunshine - her mother! Imagine, pole dancing in front of your mom!
They are tired but still playing
Pirate got to come to the cat room to play with Molly and Eli and Galene tonight. There was a little uncertainty at first but they were soon playing together. Galene was fine with him from the start. There has been hissing and arching of backs and puffing of tails. Lots of running, chasing, track ball play, toys and lots of exercise. This went way better than I had dared hope! There will be some tired kittens tonight.
Charlie loves the kittens!
Charlie would play with the babies through his cage. I decided to see how he was out with them since he has done great with Sunshine. Except try as she has, he wouldn't play. He LOVES the kittens and is quite gentle with them. Galene even likes him. Tonight he is actually chasing them and playing! A big step for Charlie!

Miss Molly
Here is a video I took when I was cleaning showing some of the attitude I get from Miss Molly! She gets very loud at times. I had a phone call from Trina Lilly while Inwas cleaning and she could hear the fussing from the other end of the room!

Several times today little Miss Molly has screamed orders at me. I tried getting a video to show how bossy that wee one thinks she is! Changed her tune completely when I started recording! Even Galene couldn't believe it!

And another! I tried to video Galene and kittens tonight. Eli had a red mouse and was running all over with it in his mouth. He was too funny.
Pirate at play
On a happier note. Pirate is feeling great and safe and loved. He was very playful tonight!
Pirate is feeling fine
Little Pirate is in quarantine all alone but he has been a true champion about it. He has a beating heart under his bed so he doesn't feel so alone, a snuggle puppy and toys. Today he has actually been playing and acting like a kitten. I think I even see a ❤️ on his hind leg.
I am in trouble
Well......I have been properly fussed at by Molly. Even though everyone in the cage was very subdued this evening during free time, she said it was over too soon. They all had first shots last night and have been as quiet a church mice until now!
