It is with a sad heart that I announce that Barks & Rec's last day of business will be Sunday, Nov. 13th. I highly encourage you to take advantage of our services until then.

I personally want to thank all of you that supported this business. Not just the fabulous pet parents, but my staff, family and friends. I still believe this is a much needed service in this area, but with labor shortages and other challenges, I am not able to provide the exceptional service you and your dog expect and deserve.

People ask us all the time how they can help and what we need at the shelter. Each week we will select the one thing we are in need of the most at that time:

This week is a social media super blast!
We are not asking for any thing that needs to be bought or costs a single penny this week. We are asking for your help to share this post anywhere and everywhere you can. Our shelter is full. We have no pending applications. We are at a total standstill of being able to help another dog until some of these animals are adopted. DOG WASH is OPEN! No reservations needed. First come first serve. It is a do-it-yourself wash where we provide the shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer, grooming tools, towels and we clean up the mess! All you need to bring is your dirty dog. $15 per dog, no time limit. Happy Monday!

Meet Teddy, the golden doodle! He and returning client, Blaze (teacup Yorkie) became fast friends. They would play toys together, hang out on the couch, and run in the snow outside. It’s amazing who connects! Love it!
