There *is* some truth to the belief that dogs are a good judge of character. Research has shown through their keen sense of smell and skilled read on human body language and cues, dogs will sometimes use that information to form an opinion of a person. A dog's sense of smell is 1000 times stronger than humans. These heightened senses allow dogs to smell the pheromones that evoke the human mood which also helps dogs pick up good and bad behaviors of a human.

Little Sprout was found abandoned with a broken leg. Saving Great Animals rescue took him in and placed him with one of their fosters where he is slowly gaining trust of people. He was very shut down at first but is now coming out of his shell. There is a great deal of optimism about his prognosis given he has a great foster family helping him through recovery. Nothing is more impressive than a dog’s strength and the love of the families who spring into action for pups in need! Roy was left abandoned on the side of the road with many injuries. Luckily, a compassionate family found him and immediately sought out care. You can’t put a price tag on the wonderful deed of this family nursing him back to health, but there is one for the vet visits. This distinguished boy is a rescue pup with Lizzy’s Lodge dog rescue and needed emergency surgery for a twisted lung and tumor that were both taken care of in the same procedure.
