Farmlife is a family affair. Even our youngest gets in on the action. This year in addition to our normal zucchini & summer squash, we also have these adorable round zucchini & summer squash! 🥰 They taste just like the others, but have a fun shape. Perfect for slicing, cubing, grating, or even little zucchini boats! And our purple beans are attracting a lot of attention this year. 💜 They are a variety called "Celine". SATURDAY FRESH PICKIN'S UPDATE: All locations open at 10 & are loaded with LOTS of freshly picked sweet corn! 🌽 (We opened early here in BP because we were ready to go, so why not?) Also, we have a few HONEYDEW melons here in Brooklyn Park today.🫒 (Not available at the other stands yet.) Many of our locations have been selling out early, so stop in and grab some sweet corn and produce while you can!😋

Our stand in Monticello is open for the season!🌽 We're there Wed thru Sun at 10am and stay until we sell out (5/5:30-ish). Look for the little red barn on 25 in the Supermercado parking lot!
🌽🌽🌽THURSDAY Update: We are open at all of our locations today, stocked with lots of delicious white sweet corn! We also have a selection of other farm fresh produce, we'll get more as the season goes along. Our muskmelon should be ripe closer to the end of the month, and our famous Black Ruby seedless watermelons, and popular Estrella seeded watermelons should be ready by early to mid August. We open at 10 at all our stands and stay until we sell out!

The heat this week is really helping push the growing along, so we are looking at opening up for the SWEET CORN🌽 season on MONDAY, JULY 15TH! This spring we were hoping for the 12th or 13th, but even with weather conditions that have not been ideal, we're only a few days behind our projected date.
Of course we will have other delicious produce as well. Everything is picked fresh from our farm here in Brooklyn Park: Cucumbers, green beans, zucchini, summer squash, potatoes, and MORE!!!

🍓MONDAY berry update: We are open today in Brooklyn Park and Chanhassen at 10 with fresh picked strawberries! We are not sure how many more days we'll have berries, so watch our posts for updates.
🌽Many of our loyal customers have been asking about our sweet corn: "How is it doing with all the rain?", "When will it be ready?", "Where can we get sweet corn this year?"
The good news is that all the rain has not hurt the corn because we farm in Brooklyn Park where the soil is extremely sandy and drains well. We've had a LOT of rain, but many of the big storms missed us, so no damage to the crops. In fact, all this rain is a relief from last year when we had to irrigate all summer long! The cooler than normal weather has slowed the sweet corn growth though. It was looking like we might have sweet corn as early as the 10th or 11th of July, but due to the lack of really hot days, we're looking at around the 15th of July. Sweet corn needs heat to grow. We are planning to have the same Fresh Pickin's locations as last year:

•St. Michael

•Lakeville Pickin's in Lakeville
More information on locations and hours as the season gets closer. Our sweet corn will also be available at a few Twin Cities grocery stores including select Hy-Vee's.
🍉For those of you asking about melons: Muskmelon are typically ready at the end of July, & watermelon in early August. As always, our crops are pampered, and every effort is made to get them ripe as early as possible. So we are hoping to have melons earlier than normal as well!
🍓For now, enjoy strawberry season while it lasts! We are hoping to get a few more days of picking in, so be sure to stop by and grab some while you can!

🌽A quick peek at what it looks like when we pick, sort, pack, and stack sweet corn! This short clip is from 1 week ago, our first day picking. We work hard to get the corn to the stand in Brooklyn Park by 9:00, and then to St. Michael & Chanhassen by 10:00. We pick enough to (hopefully!) last at each location until 5:30/6:00. Sometimes, if we have enough people, we'll go out and pick more during the day if it's selling fast, but we suggest you come early in the day to ensure you get your fresh, locally grown sweet corn!🌽
