Meet Yam, an 8-year-old warrior with a heart full of love! Yam was found as a stray, and though life hasn't been easy, he's a true survivor. Born with a unique face (he's missing a left nostril, which causes some tear drainage) and fewer teeth after a recent dental surgery, he may look a bit different, but that just makes him all the more special. Yam adores Churu treats and loves exploring on his own terms. Independent yet affectionate, he's happy to be around humans and doesn't mind being carried.
Yam is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped. He's on the lookout for a cozy retirement home where he can bask in warmth and kindness. If you're ready to share your love with this resilient soul, Yam is waiting to make your heart his forever home!
Hocus and Pocus are 2-year-old Border Collie mixes with sweet dispositions and a love for treats! They are gentle and affectionate, making them a great fit for a loving family or an individual looking for a loyal companion.
These lovely girls are motivated by food, which makes training and bonding easy and enjoyable. They are friendly and ready to fit right into a home where they’ll be cherished. Hocus and Pocus would be just as happy lounging around with you as they will be on an outdoor adventure.
If you're looking for sweet, food-loving companions, these girls would love to meet you and become your new best friends! While they’d love to go home together, they may be adopted individually.
Hocus and Pocus are up to date on vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and ready to go home today!
🩵We have a few dogs who have been with us for way too long and they deserve a loving and happy home. If you can open your geart and your home to one of our long-term dogs, please stop by our adoption center to meet them. This week we are open Thurs-Mon., 11a-5p for walk-in adoptions. 🐾 #longtermdogs #shelterdogs
Ruby's Adventures
Here's a Happy Tails about Ruby!
"In 2016 I lost my little chihuahua and had messaged you guys about bringing some of her belongings as I could no longer use them. While I was there is figured I would just look around, and saw the sweetest girl with her cone of shame on from getting spayed. I took a picture of her, went home, stared at the picture for 30 more minutes and my husband told me to just go get her. Her street name was Khalua, but we call her Ruby. She is my best girl. Always ready for an adventure or just a good cuddle session. We have moved across the country since her adoption, but we still love watching the good you guys do for the pups back at our home."
Thanks for the fun story, Mary! If you have a Happy Tails story, message our page with photos/vid and info and you may see it on social media!

💔 We're currently facing an overwhelming number of kittens at West Valley Humane Society, with over 30 furballs in need of foster homes. Our resources are stretched thin due to a recent influx of abandoned kittens and we urgently need more fosters to step up.
From mamas with their litters to orphaned kittens needing socialization, growth, or special care, there's a variety of little ones waiting for someone like you to make a difference. It might seem daunting, but like human babies, kittens are remarkably resilient. Plus, we provide all the necessary supplies, thanks to your generous donations, and offer support every step of the way.
Ready to open your heart and home to a kitten in need? Becoming a foster is simple - just fill out the form on our website ➡ https://westvalleyhumanesociety.org/forms/foster-application/ . If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]. 🌟
