The real “Rapunzel” Tower, in the English Countryside King Alfred’s Tower is 49 metres tall. Built between 1762 and 1779, it was designed by architect Henry Flitcroft who used more than a million red bricks. It is believed to mark the place where King Alfred the Great gathered his troops in 878. The tower commemorates George III’s ascension to the throne in 1760 and the end of the Seven Year War. The Triangular Tower is hollow, but it has an inside staircase (250 steps) to climb to the top. From there you can take in the spectacular vistas across Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset counties. "My Chihuahua mix dog was inside my car when it was stolen today from loves travel plaza Illinois. The police tracked my car to Illinois around 11 am, so my dog could be in that area.. He is a brown Chihuahua mix with a lot of white around face due to age..he has a large lump on his chest and a scar on his right front leg...he is very old and partly blind and deaf"

"They call me Butterball, which fits my personality perfectly. I was picked up off the streets back in August of last year. I am a really nice chunky boy who is friendly, chill, and loves being loved. They say I'm like a big ole' rag doll, cuz you can hold me and carry me around all day if you want to! Living here is better than the streets, but I really hope I can find my very own inside home with a family who will love me forever. I like other relaxed female cats, and would probably be okay with a laid-back dog. Plus, I don't know why, but I have a very quite voice, so I'd be perfect for someone who needs a quite friend, like in an apartment or a dorm. If you are looking for a nice, calm, cuddle-dude, come check me out. I'll be perfect for a family with kids or anyone who wants an affectionate, quiet friend."........
We do ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, on a first-come/first serve basis. The best way to make an appointment is to click the blue "Book Now" button at the top of our page. Since we do first-come, first-serve adoptions, we highly recommend making an appointment ASAP if you want this pet. Just write "BUTTERBALL" in the note section of the appointment form, so we know who you want to see. In many cases, you can take the pet home the same day, so come prepared! 🙂 Appointments are available:

Thank you to the Washington, IL Police Department for your desire to get animals home to their families before having take them to animal control! "We would be interested in getting a scanner because it will help reunite pet owners with their loved ones quickly."

This was one of 39 scanners Lost Dogs Illinois donated to police departments throughout Illinois in 2024. We had a much larger request than anticipated and are very excited so many police departments were interested! Each scanner was approximately $215 and we need your help.
