His family could really use some help at this time as they just found out that his fiancé’s daughter Ainslee has been diagnosed with cancer at only 10 years old. Have you ever thought about owning a pet that's incredibly affectionate, small and intelligent? One of our technicians, Lisa is fostering baby rats. She, along with the mama rat has raised them since they were born on June 23rd, 2022. They are very well socialized with humans and their littermates.
If you are interested in rescuing some rats let her know. You may call Lisa at our hospital this week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.) She has 3 females and 4 males available. Because they are pack animals they have to be released in either the full group of the 3 females, or set of 2 males (or the full set of 4 males.)
They make great pets for kids who want to have some responsibility but not an overwhelming amount.
Because Lucille (Mama rat) has been litterbox trained she has started to train the babies as well. She even knows to use it when she's allowed to free roam an enclosed space. (Plus she has a great recall.) As you can tell; with attention, treats and patience these little creatures can be taught all sorts of tricks and commands. (Including clicker training.)
