Ziggy...Zigster...Diggy Dog

You have taught us so much in just a short year.
You have traveled more places, stayed in more hotels, logged more hours on road trips and even accumulated more sky miles than most humans.

You are a constant reminder of how to overcome adversity. You wake up every morning with a literal smile on your face. You love to stop and smell the flowers. You always enjoy going on an outing or enjoying a new adventure.

There is not a person you meet that you don't like and there is not a adult or child that meets you, that doesn't fall in love.

We adore you! And only look forward to the progress we see you make in the future.

ZIGGY enjoyed his first day in Wyoming outside playing in the grass, chasing bugs and watching bunnies.

And the big travel day was here!!!

United Airlines had no idea what the friendly skies had in store for them with ZIGGY on board.
The pilots and crew were so impressed with our superstar, he had perfect manners both at the terminal and in the cabin on the plane.

Traveling for almost 12 hours!
We left the PTM office at 3:30 in the morning and headed to SFO, arriving at his destination in Wyoming at 2:00 in the afternoon.

The Zigster was a pooped pup.

Just enough time to have a snack and get a cuddle, before finding his new soft bed and catching some well deserved zzz's.
(In any position he could 😴)

Last Saturday, ZIGGY spent the day greeting customers at the front door and telling them about all his friends who were available for adoption that day at a Paws That Matter adoption event at Petco in Castro Valley.

Trying to keep up with the big dogs is a big job. That's why the littlest guy has to make the biggest sounds!

Thank goodness for the gentle disposition of 7-year-old Lucy and 7-month-old Moose, who put up with all of ZIGGY'S shenanigans.

ZIGGY has a BFF!! 🥰

Lucy is a 7-year-old, 87 lb blue nosed American Staffordshire Terrier. Aunt Lucy has taken our little man under her paw and is teaching him all about being a big dog.
(And the resemblance is uncanny... We call him Little Lucy.... But don't tell him we said that.)

Today the Zigster had his first excursion out and about. We took Ziggy out in our pet mobility vehicle (he doesn't like the word stroller... it makes him feel like a baby) and he was a big hit at the local park. Everybody wanted to say hello and give gentle pets and treats to the adorable "squishy face doggie".

He was such a good boy!

Our boy is figuring out that making friends, playing and generally just being really cute all day long is exhausting work.

However, ZIGGY is always ready with a smile for a puppy photo shoot.

ZIGGY ❤️ is doing great his first couple of days with us in rescue!!

Due to the fact that he is not capable of controlling his relieving (he gets embarrassed)... Zig is learning to wear a diaper and belly band (helps with controlling the firehose).

His personality is definitely shining through as he scoots around the house great, interacting and playing well with the other dogs.

We are hoping to fit him for a size appropriate wheelchair in the very near future...Can't wait to see what he does with that! 😎

MEET ZIGGY ❤️
This audacious 16 week old puppy came into our PTM when his well intentioned owners realized they needed help for Ziggy and were out of resources and options. He had been diagnosed as a "swimmer" puppy (a neurologic issue which affects a puppy's stability and movement). We work with many special needs dogs and they hoped we could offer him much needed help to ensure he is able to live his best life ever. We will set up an appointment with Dr. Dimov, our rescue vet and in conjunction with the vet records he already has, hopefully come up with an idea of what we can do to help.
