Here are some very important tips from our friends at LIVS…the heat is no joke and knowing what to look for is extremely important where is comes to heat stroke.

During this week’s heatwave, it’s crucial to take extra care to protect our pets from heat exhaustion and dehydration. Know the signs of heat stroke and use these tips to keep your pets safe & cool:

☀️ Always have fresh water available.
☀️ Don't leave your pet in the car, especially on hot days.
☀️ Opt for shorter walks and schedule them in the early morning or evening when it's cooler.
☀️ Avoid asphalt and pavement.
☀️ Certain pets are more at risk, including animals with flat faces like Pugs and Persian cats, long-haired breeds, and puppies.

Remember, if it is too hot for you, it is too hot for your pets! If you notice signs of heat exhaustion, contact LIVS at (516) 501-1700 immediately.
