One of our long time clients reached out to us this week about a desperate situation regarding a senior in assisted living that has been moved to a hospital memory care facility.
We stopped by this afternoon to do a welfare check, evaluate the circumstances, and meet the cat to see how we could help.
The situation was more dire than we realized and we found a sweet but very confused and scared kitty named Oliver. Oliver has been loved all of his life by his owner until his owner was no longer healthy enough to live in assisted living. Oliver doesn't understand why his owner is not there and he finds himself in an apartment filled with unfamiliar people and the loud noises of packing and moving.
Despite the chaos of his situation, he did come out for us today and we believe he is a very sweet boy (just unsure right now.) We spent some time reassuring him and made sure he had a safe, secure and separate space with clean water, litter and food but this is very much a temporary solution for him.
Movers will be coming Tuesday and Oliver needs a new home.
Here is what we know about Oliver:
Oliver is 5 years old. UTD on rabies, neutered with a microchip. He has been an indoor cat all of his life. We were told he was declawed but have been able to confirm. He appears to be in great health and was adopted from somewhere but I’m unable to locate all of his paperwork for his full history. His coat is very shiny! 🙂 We were told he is a little shy with new people but warms up quickly and that seems to be the case. xo
We would like to help Oliver and so we will make sure he gets a full checkup and any additional medical needs will be fully covered. We will also provide a full "adoption supply kit.*
Oliver needs an adopter or foster by Tuesday. Unfortunately this is an urgent situation. Please let us know if you would like to help Oliver!
