Minnesota State Fair 2023 is a wrap! It may have been a hot one, but it was a good one! It was another memorable year for us! As you can see some had so much fun they couldn't handle it anymore.

We have one more show before the girls start to wind down into off-season. Come on out to Britt Draft Horse Show this weekend! Who knows you may even see us clowning around! 🤡🤡

Think it's safe to say everyone had a good time at the Steele County Fair. The girls had a good show! We leave tomorrow morning for The Great Minnesota Get Together! Stop by and see us if you there! It looks like it's going to be a warm one! After the State Fair we are home for a few days then off to the Britt Draft Horse Show!

Today was an emotional day for all at the farm. While we welcomed new life, we also had to say goodbye to the horse that held our hitch and farm together for so long , Fawn. She will be greatly missed by not only us but all the animals on the farm. To our girl who gave us more than we ever deserved....rest easy girl. You deserve it.

While we grieve this great loss, we also want to share how greatful and appreciative we are of Meadow View Mules for giving our baby a shot at life with a mare of theirs that also recently suffered a loss. We are incredibly thankful! Ellie and Legacy (GB Fawn's Legacy) are both doing great and settling in nicely.

The girls kicked off our show season at the Olmsted County Fair this weekend. They did great in all of their classes and took home first in the 6 Horse Hitch Driving Competition.

We will be in Red Wing on Sunday for their parade and then in our hometown of Chatfield the next weekend for Western Days!

The 2022 OCF Draft Horse show will feature over 100 draft horses comprised of four draft horse breeds including Percherons, Belgians, Clydesdales and Shires. These gentle giants will be accompanied by 23 different Draft Horse Exhibitor families. These families come from Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin to compete in halter classes, cart classes and 5th wheel spoked wagon classes. We will feature 4 sets of six horses pulling the 5th wheel wagons both Friday and Saturday night. The youth ages 8 to 17 years old compete in youth halter showmanship, cart, and team classes Friday afternoon.
