She definitely had some knowledge of training prior. She was with us for #finishingschool

She gained proper #manners - on how to walk correctly & mannerly on leash. She learned how to be calmer and less chaotic.

☀️ANNOUNCEMENT ☀️
I have been working very hard to extend the scope of what is offered.
I’ve been training dogs, as a profession, since I was 19. I am now 47. It’s been a wild ride to say the least. I have clients from East to West, North & South. I have many “celebrity clients” and many that roll their change (like us). I’m very very proud of the training work done here, in many different facets. While training will continue, I decided a while back, I would add more.
I am very happy to announce I am now certified in:
- Animal Bodywork
-Animal Massage (many different forms)
-Animal Neuro-myofascial Release Technique (body alignment)
- Animal Cold Laser Therapy
- Canine Water Therapy
Obviously, this helps them feel better. But this also means, I can work with any veterinarian and help assist in recovery and rehab.
(Much like human physical therapy)

While many of these things, I’ve been doing for YEARS, I now have the certifications ❤️🐾

He is doing extremely well! Yes, in some of this, you see a leash. He is in #training and #dogtraining in any form, is a process .

It’s extremely hard to behave when your friends are allowed to run around “free”. I do this intentionally as a distraction. JJ did exceptionally well!!

I never held the leash. It was just there “in case” in the beginning of this.

GRADUATION DAY FOR CUBBY & ROCKY

@lauram2610 has a very special relationship with Cubby (she can share if she choses to)….she loves Rocky immensely- but Cubby came at a very difficult time.
.
It was extremely hard for Laura to let the boys come for #training , but she knew it was for the best.
.
They arrived on retractable leashes and were all over the place, with zero focus, very little respect and lacked in manners. (She agrees it’s ok)
Today, they left very mannerly young men.
.
I’m so pleased with them and her!! BIG BIG STEPS for all 3!!!

#germanshorthairedpointer working on sitting STILL - which is a huge thing for this boy…later “sitting still” turns into #stay - and then that becomes staying at a distance…..even with distractions .
.
Its very hard for a #dog to stay when you walk behind them, pet them, make crazy movements & even step over him. I dont mind at all that he lays down or rolls over, in this situation. The goal here was to not leave - which he did 👏🏻
.
Please note - Maverick is not sporting a #shockcollar aka an #ecollar . It is not necessary to shock a #dog in order for them to learn. When things are taught correctly, #dogs want to learn and please, naturally.

Who says, “You Can’t Teach Old Dogs New Tricks?”

WOW - I could write a book just on our last 60 days.
.
The journey with this boy. He will always hold a special place in my heart.
.
He came to us for #training due to “the usual”, needing #manners …etc - but he also had some aggression issues. Just putting a collar on or taking a collar off, could have easily gotten me bit. He did NOT like this. Touching him all over was an issue. Walking Bandit on leash, was difficult. He has a very sweet heart, but it was hidden deep inside.
.
Bandit is 5. He’s people are WONDERFUL. His issues are not from them. Some, may possibly, stem from “bad training” years ago. Who really knows?! But we had a lot to fix in short time.
.
Not only did Bandit conquer #behavioralissues . He became my #friend and my #coworker . You see, I started noticing he would just refuse to go to bed when I asked. He would really pout, like I hurt his feelings, if I didn’t put him up very last. I figured out he was trying to help me. So, every time I woke them up, he was out 1st and helped me start the day. Every night, he was last. He helped me round each #dog up. Of course, he is a #herdingdog , so naturally he wanted to #work . 💡
.
Once we established a #friendship and got past his issues with trying to “take me out”. He understood I am in charge. Then, he would wait on my ques to work.
We have a full #love #respect #friendship .
.
I literally cried today preparing him to go home.
.
I hope he doesn’t miss me as much as I miss him. I hope he shows off his wonderful self. I’m so very very proud of his hard work.
.
Once Bandit realized the way he SHOULD #behave, all things changed. He became very willing and made FAST forward #progress .
.

Wren is back working with us to be a #therapydog for her sweet girl.

This is just a tiny clip of one outing. It’s very hard to video every moment AND #train .

There was a lot of chaos going on here for Wren to deal with. The other #dog you see at the end of this clip KEPT Barking. Wren never made a peep. She only looked at him like he needed #manners. LOL
.
There were many #stangers coming and going. She had to deal with many horses, trucks, trailers. loud noises…..etc

Wren was a #SUPERSTAR
