Look at Duchess when she was little Hayli Hardin
When one of the puppies you started goes to their new owner and her first duck with them is a great success
She makes me smile all day.
So, I wanna talk about dogs( go figure huh)
So this morning I had the 2nd dog ever to growl at me at drop off.
But here's the thing...they dont know where they are or who I am. ( its why i try ro get a MEET&GREET in before drop-off when possible) But do I take it personal?..no, mostly because I know dogs...and once owners leave their dog is 100x different. Well, 100x different than when you are here WITH me. They are what you see at home when you leave.
The two dogs didn't want anything to do with me when the owners dad was dropping off. I told him it's ok..I take them into the playyard when they are first here and I just sit there and let them come to me. I want them to see I'm not gonna chase or corner or "make" them do anything but give them the chance to feel comfortable with me.
Here is a video 30 seconds after her left. Jake has since jumped up and hugged me....omg he's such a cute mini doodle.
Your dogs are good.β€οΈ
(Excuse my bench , it started to lose a leg and until I figure out how to change it out without breaking the other side when the other side is in the ground already, the brick is keeping that side upπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈπ€¦ββοΈ)
Lil'Bit came in to board as a fear biter...it was a tough intake.
Obviously we've made some progress cuz I had to start with some thick leather gloves.
But she's doing much better.
I'm glad cuz she is pretty sweet....just an anxious personality so you have to be aware of that. She needs baby steps.
Plus this is one of the major reasons I want "Meet & Greets" done before dogs come here if possible. Its sensory overload here. The amount of smells usually gets dogs foaming at the mouth a bit because their scent glands go into overdrive. Meet & Greets let your dog(s) meet me before being dropped off in a new place...and you so you know who I am. It also gives me a chance to evaulate your dog a bit so I know who's coming into the mix and where and with who I can put them out in the playyards with.
Also up for consideration is SIAN.
She's been started, had her basic gundog done by Linda Brewer so she's able to tell ya about her. She stays at your side, love to retrieve and is just a good pup all around.
Even her first time into tractor supply was a breeze.
She'll be 2 in July. I've just had other dogs qualifying for MN and going for their master titles that I hadn't been able to send a 4th up for training or she'd be further along.
Contact me for more info if interested.
Thanks

Rowdy waiting on his humams...hes a good boy!
TRUE and I doing some work. He's here to build that drive and desire. I wanted to throw a 'big dog' bumper to see how he does. It's just to see if he'll pIck up something other than a roll or cloth puppy bumper. He still has some growing and maturity with his obedience but he's only a four months old.... he's a smart little pup and I really like him.
So grateful for today's weather...the pups are loving it
Holiday or not we work 365 days a year to some extent.
NOVA is 6 weeks old and retrieving. She is gonna be a good one! This was our first time retrieving today.
If I can whelp a litter, the puppies are definitely more advanced.
When you've whelped litters and trained puppies as long as I have, you know what works.
I do whelp litter for clients and can whelp yours if you're looking for puppies who are more advanced than the average litter.
Contact me for more info and let's customize a program foe your needs.
Something to make you smile this morning
Bree's baby is only 2.5 weeks old. This baby is doing everything early. Her eyes opened at 9 days old and that usually happens more like 12 days( both opened at once), She's been walking like this for almost a week.
Andy Ford ( I think I have her sold)
When you breed well bred pups for intelligence, trainability and great temperments...you get puppies that can work together in pack training. These are 2 different ages of pups from 2 litters but the same daddy. They have since gone on to do hunt tests, k9 detection work, service work and agility. They have made me a very proud breeder.
These were the BEST puppies ( dumped litter that I rescued). They were so amazing in their ability to do so well as a pack in training. THIS is NOT EASY for puppies as a group. I sure miss them!
The boxers are at it again...π€£π€£π€£
But they are liking this semi-cooler day. It's still warm but less humid

LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES!!
THIS is what SEPARATION ANXIETY sounds like. πππππ
THIS is why you CRATE TRAIN your dogs.
CRATE TRAINING is NOT mistreatment....IT'S BEING A RESPONSIBLE OWNER who actually CARES about their dog!!!
THIS BREAKS MY HEART FOR THIS DOG BECAUSE HE'S RIDDEN WITH INSECURITY
πππππ
And this is after being outside getting energy out...thats why I know it's not being just bored. All the other dogs in the kennel are ok and quiet. And this is JUST 20 SECONDS! This goes on for a LONG time.
I don't know why people can't undersrand why CRATE TRAINING is an important and good thing. It blows my mind.
When you crate train, you're teaching the dog to SELF SOOTHE...that they can rest and relax and aren't dependent on YOU for its security and entertainment.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CRATE TRAIN YOUR DOGS!!!!
OR
don't and let your dog be riddled with anxiety and fear. Oh, and then you won't be welcome back at any boarding facility or vet for boarding when they find out the dog has separation anxiety...because its not something they will tolerate more than once.
Truth hurts.
