Friday Trailride! 7/19/24
Snapshots from a week at Stay in the Saddle. #stayinthesaddle #janelbrookshire #april2024
Tomorrow begins:
💥FAB 45 to FEB!!💥
I’m posting the intro video here, which includes the 4 exercises.
Facebook ate my first post of it. So instead of wasting my words, watch the video and then stay tuned for the group to be created. You will get an invite, and you are welcome to invite others!
What happens if you stay in the trajectory that you’re currently in regarding your riding?
Habits? Patterns? Goals?
Are you pleased with your answers?
Or do you choose to make a change?
When would you like this change to occur?
What happens if you wait? A year? Three years? 10 years?
❓Why wait?
❓Should you continue to let opportunity pass you by?
~ Critical thinking of a horse person
Water break’s over… time to work. 🤣🐎💖 Not really…
Gentle, soft and *persistent* persuasion… gets the job done!
You can see Cadillac is not scared. He’s not unable. He just doesn’t want to. Do you hear her saying to him “Try again”? (ignore my voice 😐 lol)
Yes. Try again. 💯 Very nice!! 👏🏼👏🏼
🥵 Baby, it’s HOT outside!!
This is an excellent example** of what many horses are experiencing today (this week) in Oklahoma ~ and probably elsewhere… It’s H🔥T!
** Edited to add: this is a horse at rest! No riding, no exercise, just trying to cool her body. 🙏🏼
Provide freshened/cool water to drink.
A cool water rinse on their legs can be helpful.
If you have splint boots for your horse ~ put them on loosely but secure, and add a little ice.
Shade.
A breeze.
Horses are tough. They are extremely resilient. But hot is hot, and when evening temps and humidity stay high, they can have a hard time cooling their core temp. Help them out as you can, and 🧊🧊take care of yourself too🧊🧊!!
🙌🏼 Your horse needs you. 💗
