Why? Why would you breed? Why German Shepherds? Why not Yorkies? Why not Labs? Why German Shepherds?!?! Well, if you want the answer to these questions... Read the below eulogy I had written to my beloved Bodo.
Beshutzer "BODO" Von Barentatze
Bodo, of Nicelytown, Virginia passed away peacefully, Friday, October 15, 2021, at the residence of Pamela D Ruff.
Bodo was not supposed to be part of our family, nor was I looking to bring another pet into our home after the passing of our dear Oscar, but GOD decided differently. My mother-in-law drove to West Virginia, one of many trips to finally pick up her little girl puppy. She arrived at the location so happy that this would be the last trip as she was finally getting to take her home. Her happiness soon turned to anger and sadness while waiting to sign the final paperwork. When she overheard a man standing a few feet from her, telling the person he was with, the cruel things he was going to do to the puppy left, so the dog would be mean and vicious when it got older. My mother-in-law was boiling mad as she listened and quietly waited for her turn. When the owners walked out, she told them of the conversation she overheard. Needless to say, my mother-ln-law left there with not ONE but TWO puppies. She later that day showed up at my house with the puppy and gave him to my daughter and my son as a Christmas present, then looked to my husband and I and apologized for not asking permission but, couldn't leave him behind. Then told us the story of what had happen. Of course, we 100% would have done the same thing if we where in her position. It did not take Bodo long to become a family favorite and a beloved farm dog. We have had many of dogs in the past and Bodo was by far the smartest dog we ever had. It is so hard to describe the love Bodo showed our family. His passing left such an empty spot in our home and hearts. I thought I would never be able to love another dog as much as I loved him. After some time passed, I decided to start the search for a German Shephard. During the search there was so many disheartening things I learned. For one - How the dogs were treated...no love! Two - The conditions the dogs lived in! Three - Locked in cages! After seeing the things, I did, I decided I was going to start breeding and make sure my dogs were loved, cared for and the breed is pure! We now have four beautiful German Shepherds and could really start breeding now, but we have made the decision to not breed any of our dogs until they are at least 2 years old. Health, Happiness and Purity are what our mission is.
Please follow us and watch our 4 babies grow up and become moms and dads to new puppies.
