UPDATE: YAY! THIS IS COVERED NOW! We thought we had this covered, but it all changed. We are looking for someone that can transport two of the puppies from San Francisco towards Petaluma later this afternoon/evening. Meeting place can even be between SF and Petaluma, maybe San Rafael or Novato. Send us a message and we'll set this up! Thank you!
Oh my goodness....We can't believe this sweet boy hasn't found a home yet! Would you give Frankie the gift of a home for the holidays? He would fit into just about any home with at least one stay at home or work from home parent. Fantastic Frankie is a healthy and energetic 8-year-old Weimaraner. This sweet boy is very well mannered. He absolutely loves going for walks/runs, having fun chasing squirrels and playing with toys. He also enjoys counter surfing, so he will help you keep your counters tidy and clean! He absolutely loves all dog friends and is calm and submissive with them. He knows all basic commands and loves performing, especially for treats! Please watch his video. He loves going for car rides and is the perfect passenger! Frankie is house trained, but not crate trained. He does seem to have a degree of separation anxiety, so we are looking for a home for him with minimal alone time, such as a stay at home/work from home parent. His amazing foster mom has been working with him and he is good for a couple of hours alone, but not for a standard work day. Frankie was raised in a home with children and is gentle with them. However, we would prefer a home for Frankie him with kids over the age of 10, per our placement policy. He is living with other dogs in his foster home and gets along well with them. He has lived in a home with a cat in the past, so he might be ok in a home with a kitty (it may take time and patience). Frankie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and has received good vet care and is very healthy. If you are looking for a fun and cuddly Weim that will give you lots of love and help keep your bed and sofa warm, Frankie might be the perfect canine friend for you! Taking advantage of the beautiful weather today and getting outside!
Sneak peek at Ralph ❤️
He is sweet as can be. He needs to gain some weight, and has his neuter scheduled. Keep your eye out for him if you're interested in a young male.
Gentle Titus is almost ready for his forever home. His procedure went really well! Please see his full bio on our website if you think you might be able to give this senior what he deserves in his golden years.
Dashing through the snow to wish all our volunteers, supporters, families and adoptees a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you for all your support!🐶❤️
PLEASE HELP BY GIVING TITUS THE MOST AMAZING GIFT...A HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! He came to rescue when his owner had to move overseas and could not take him along. However, he was well loved. He is now in one of NCWR's fabulous foster homes. His foster parents say Titus is a very sweet and well behaved boy who bonds quickly with his humans. He is good with other dogs in the yard and other settings outside the home (when out and about). However, he can be protective of his humans when inside the home and does not like other dogs approaching when he is near his humans (only indoor at home), so we are looking for a home for Titus without other dogs. Titus walks well on leash. He knows how to "sit" and “shake” (watch his video). For a 12 year old, Titus seems younger than his years. He is up to date on all his vaccinations and is neutered. He does have some fatty lumps that are characteristic of being a senior Weim. Although Titus is sweet and gentle with everyone, he has no experience with young children. Therefore, children in his forever home should be age 10 years and older. Titus has no experience with cats either, so we are looking for a kitty-free home for him. This sweet senior still has lots of life love to give and would be a wonderful addition to your home! If you are interested in adopting Titus and are willing to give a nice senior a place to land, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/212066727579162
The struggle is real 😂

Weim butt Wednesday. Show us who has the fastest tail in the West!
Moki, our Great Weimar, has been doing excellent in foster! We have learned quite a bit about this sweet, sensitive girl. She gets along extremely well with the other foster dogs and loves to play so we are ideally looking for a home with a playmate. She is wonderful on leash, though will occasionally be excited to see another dog. She sleeps all night like a log and will wake you up with good morning kisses. After playing or a good long walk she enjoys drinking from the bathtub faucet or hose (your choice!). She is a very affectionate girl that happily follows you around wherever in the house you might go and just wants to be with you as much as possible.
Moki can be shy and reserved with strangers and will take some time to warm up to new people she meets. It will be important to give her a proper introduction to new people. Though she is a tall beauty and weighs about 115lbs, she is an easy keeper about the house—she is not destructive and is house broken and has no need of a crate.
She is a wonderful combination of both her breeds, and we will take the time to find the perfect home for this perfect girl. She has shown interest in cats but her prey drive and livability with them is unknown. She was raised with kids but she is a large dog who loves to run if room provides so situations should be supervised with smaller kids. If you feel you can provide her the time, exercise, and attention she deserves please fill out an application or PM us if you have any questions.

ADOPTION PENDING
Beautiful Moki is ready for her forever home. She is a two-year-old Great Weimar (Dane/Weimaraner); she is spayed and had a gastropexy to prevent bloat at the same time. She is crate trained but does not really need it and behaves well, loose in the home. She is a lovely dog that needs supportive and continued training; both her breeds have strong protective instincts and when she warms up and settles in will likely act as protector of her family and home. Proper introduction to strangers will be important for her success.
*Good with kids but she is 115lbs and does like to run and play
*Good with friendly dogs and well socialized but like sized mates will be better
*House broken
*Leash trained
*Rides well in car
*Current on vaccines
*Sensitive and gentle girl for her size; she needs able bodied owners that can meet her exercise needs
*Unknown with cats, no kitties or small creatures please.

Young Javi came to us several months ago a nervous and reactive pup that was getting little exercise and no training. He has improved quite a lot in foster. We’ve had him in trial adoptions that didn’t work out through no real fault of his own. We’ve learned he’s best in quiet or more rural setting (so not in the city center), he’s great with children and a definite no go with cats. We thought he had found his forever home recently, but the other dog in the house really wanted to be an only dog, whereas Javi wanted to play, play, play!
Javi has spent time with our trainer to build his confidence with other dogs and start leash training. He will need continued work on the socialization side to not bark at dogs, strangers, and anything new and unfamiliar to him, especially on walks (he is not a big Weim but he is very strong). When in a new home he has no problem finding his voice and tends to bark at new things. But that is a behavior that seems to improve once he settles in a bit.
He would benefit greatly from an owner willing to do obedience training where he can continue to learn boundaries and understand what is expected of him.
When properly introduced to a dog he does wonderfully with them so we would love for him to have a buddy.
Javi is just over a year old and as you can see, has lots of energy, but also curls up and will cuddle with you in the evening!
He’s a wonderful affectionate boy and is house broken and crate trained.
If you think Javi is the right dog for you, please apply with us https://form.jotform.com/212066727579162 . If you have a recent application on file, just email us your interest at [email protected]
Ready...wait for it....

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue will be forever grateful that a community came together for Han, and to those of you who were able to donate towards his care-- making an expensive surgery possible--we thank you. We could not have done this without you--best Christmas gift ever!
Update! Han's surgery went well and he did wonderfully--recheck tomorrow morning with the vet. He's not a happy camper of course (which he normally always is), but once the inflammation from the procedures subsides he should regain his sight. He has several rechecks over the next two weeks with the surgeon; his fosters have been amazing! The utmost care has to be taken to keep him calm and keep his eye pressure down; and he must have eye drops several times a day. It will all be worth it to see this boy have a shot a the sighted life he once had. Thank you all for your support!!!!
TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!
Han originally had his surgery for cataracts scheduled in October. But what most of our community doesn't know is that sweet Han is also a seizure dog (completely unrelated to his cataracts). Two days before the surgery he began having cluster seizures which necessitated an ER Visit, changing his meds and monitoring for a time.
We are happy to report that Han is still seizure free and his foster has brought him down for surgery which is TODAY! It has been journey for this amazing boy. Han we love you and best of luck today!!!
