The IACP Service Dog Committee is excited to offer an informational Seminar on the IACP Service Dog Committee’s International Public Access Test (PAT).
"Putting the Access in Public" taught by IACP SD Committee member, Kristi Smith, CVT, CCAS, IACP CDT, CDTA, PDTI and CSDT: This informative session will be describing the exercises and behaviors that a Service Dog that is public access trained must exhibit to pass the NEW IACP International Public Access Test (PAT). The original PAT that was developed in late 2017 and presented at the IACP Annual Conference in 2018 has been updated to be truly International. Developed by the IACP Service Dog Committee, the International PAT is designed to set a standard in the Service Dog Industry.
While a PAT is optional, there are slow changes happening in the Service Dog Industry, and we want IACP Members to be knowledgeable and at the forefront of these changes. The test has been designed to demonstrate that the handler and their service dog have met a skill set that meets basic guidelines per nation, country, province, and state worldwide for behaviors when in public.
"Putting the Access into Public" is a unique opportunity not to be missed.
Benefits of this are:
- Gain direct knowledge of exercises that a Service Dog Team should master to take the PAT
- Extend your knowledge and be a leader in the service dog world
The event will be recorded, and the link will be emailed to anyone who wishes to watch it, once it has been uploaded.
We hope you join us for this live, virtual webinar!
