4/20 PSA: Please keep all cannabis products, especially edibles, CBD-containing products, and all other sources of ma*****na (ashtrays included) out of reach of all pets. Do you suspect your pet has been exposed to ma*****na or another substance? Please contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency service as soon as possible.
Honesty is the best policy concerning any exposure to any substance or medication as different drug toxicities require different treatments, we just need to know how to treat your pet.

The usual pet toxicity case involves a dog that has inadvertently eaten a stash of ma*****na. In the dog, clinical signs typically begin 30 to 90 minutes after the ma*****na has been eaten. Because THC is stored in the body's fat deposits, the effects of ma*****na ingestion can last for days.

PSA: It has been a very skunky summer! We've had many reports of our patients getting into altercations with skunks and other wildlife. There have also been recent reports of skunks and raccoons testing positive for rabies in Burlington, Colchester, Winooski, and other Vermont counties.
Rabies vaccinations for domestic animals are required by the State of Vermont. Is your pet up to date? Please call us to verify!
Follow the link below on what you can do to help prevent rabies in pets and people!
You may also contact the Vermont Rabies Hotline: 1-800-4-RABIES (1-800-472-2437).

Rabid animals show a change in their normal behavior, but you cannot tell whether an animal has rabies simply by looking at it. Enjoy wildlife from a distance, and protect cats and dogs with rabies vaccine.

The 4th of July can be a stressful time for pets between noisy fireworks, cookouts, and guests going in and out of the house, we see many pets go missing this time of year.
Check if your pet's collar and/or tags are outfitted with updated contact information.
Ensure you have renewed and updated your pet's microchip information.
