After years of saying I’m going to do it I finally did! I saddled up the mare that has made the biggest impact in my career. She has produced my first two L4 Open Futurity Finalists and winners of $130,000 on the 5 that I’ve had the privilege to show.
At 22 she’s still young as she’s running and kicking with the yearling fillies daily having fun. The last time she was rode to my knowledge was her 4 year old year with Troy Heikes at the Cactus Classic. As she and I were riding around I could feel the joy she had riding as much as I did.
This great mare is the one and only Nestle Quik Chic. Now a producer of $500,000+ with more up and coming to the show pen.
I’m proud to be able to be a small part in her legacy. My dad and his great customer at the time William Newman knew they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase her when they were given the chance. Even though they both aren’t here now to see what she has become, I do know that they would both be proud. So to them and Nestle I will forever be grateful for what they have done for my career and family!
