On May 31st the NADKC Upper Midwest Region hosted a DKV Derby Test at Richard B**g State Recreation Area in Wisconsin. The day was a success with optimum weather and very nice fields for run the Deutch Kurzhaars. Here are a few pic for our friends to enjoy.

As most of you already know, our Club, the NADKC is a registered 501.C.3 Non-Profit Organization. Therefore, the Club is obligated to show ways that it "gives back" to our communities. With that in mind, our Club sponsors a few events encouraging our youngsters to become involved in activities which in turn could very well provide our breeders with their next "puppy buyers".

We recently received a very impressive Thank You letter regarding a youth hunt in which we were involved. Many of us help in various ways… Veteran Hunts… Women’s Wing shooting… Disabled Hunts…Habitat Projects… Our help in donating and/or volunteering for these activities is instrumental in advancing our mission.

We're quite aware that you are well into your hunting season and that testing season is months away... but, please remember that test dates for 2024 must be submitted to Germany for approval by the first part of December... So if you are planning on hosting a test (or are interested in hosting) in 2024 you should be contacting your Regional Director to work out the details.

The NADKC should be posting the Clubs schedule iaround the first of the year so don't be late in submitting your entries when the time comes...

Texas’ Deutsch Kurzhaar breed club (NADKC/DKV) derby and Zuchtschau. We hosted a successful test on our grounds yesterday, it was a full day. The dogs did great, the handlers did great, we had several new handlers and some fantastic volunteers and three awesome judges. Unfortunately the group photo was an afterthought so not everybody was able to get in on it but I want to thank everyone publicly who participated and supported us. We had four different kennels represented here. The scenting conditions were somewhat tough with strong winds whipping around but even so, the dogs did well. All of the puppies from our kennel got prize 1s and had very nice conformation ratings as well. Very proud of these guys and their dogs. Very proud of the other kennels represented here as well, their dogs also did well and had nice conformation ratings too. This was a very fun day for everyone. Thanks again to all!
