Calling All Dog, Lemonade and Shaved Ice Enthusiasts!

ABRT needs YOUR help! Every year we run a few lemonade and shaved ice stands at Territory Days over Memorial Day weekend. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and ABRT is able to raise a ton of money for our mission! But we can’t do it without our awesome supporters volunteering a few hours of their time to help us run the booths!

Each day is split into two shifts, a few hours each. We need about 14 volunteers per shift. We will be doing these stands Saturday 5/25, Sunday 5/26, and Monday 5/27 and we are looking for some awesome volunteers to help us out.

For volunteering, you will get a free ABRT t-shirt, free lemonade and shaved ice, and know that you helped ABRT and dogs in need!

We have 2 young males, 2 of your female babies from the Lab, and mom and her daughter and 6 more girls available for adoption. Mom was a shoulder rat that was very loved that took it quite hard to be away from home. She is very sweet but will need someone with experience and patience as she nips in the beginning until she gets comfortable in her surroundings.

He has been contained and needs transport from Denver to Colorado Springs ASAP.

Emergency Adoption weekend! We are FULL FULL and have to stop intake. We have peoole trying to surrender and are trying to avoid these rats going to bad situations or being released (yes, thats a threat we hear alot when we are full and cant take in).We will have an oops litter that is ready this weekend and we have some babies from the Lab and previous litter left. We are also getting an emergency surrender of 17 rats. There are 8 males and 9 females ranging in age from 8 weeks to about 1 year, maybe a little older. They were guessing with older rats ages, but know the babies ages for sure they were born 2/13. Pictured are some of the rats coming in Friday, the litter and some babies. Not all rats available are pictured. We also have a mom that used to be a shoulder rat and is very sweet once she decompressed and gets used to her people. She comes with a daughter of hers. She has absolutely beautiful colorings.

We could really use some help with supplies at the rescue. Our sprouting trays for the sprouts we grow for our animals at the rescue year round are super worn. We are low on vinegar and out of paper towels. With the massive influx in ratties at the rescue lately we need more storage containers for feed. Please help us save lifes! Lab intake day. We have 5 moms that are paired with one of their babies that are looking for homes. The lab only uses the moms once for breeding so we took all in that needed to find a home so we can prevent euthanasia. We also have 9 males that are 4 months old that have been used in the experiments to push marbels and pull levers. And we have about 50 baby rats needing homes. Please pm us if you are interested in adopting.

Please help us safe lives! We are currently sitting on 5 litters and are supposed to pick up more babies from the college lab to prevent them from getting euthanized. We can arrange transport to Denver. All ratties are first come basis. Pm us if you have space for some adorable nuggies. We have alot that are ready to go this weekend and need the space for the lab ratties. We have several different colors but mostly black hooded due to the lab babies being all black hooded.

We have been absolutely swamped with surrendered babies. 3 litters currently not ready to wean yet. 3 litters ready to go. And we were trying to take in the babies from the college in a week or so too to save their lifes... without the babies from the Lab we are currently sitting on 45 babies and moms. Please please reach out if you can adopt and help us find these nuggets a home so we can help the ratties from the college as well. We have males females dumbos top ear.... And we have about 18 ready to go right now and more next weekend. The last two pictures are from intake today as they arrived. We will give them time to decompress and get better pictures.

Babies babies and more babies... we currently have 2 oops litters that have been surrendered and the college lab will have alot of extra babies and baby mammas for us as well that would normally face euthanasia because they only use a certain amount and gender for the experiments. The college was excited with our rescue mission and will always offer us any ratties they can't use to be saved and adopted out. If you are looking for babies or have it in your heart to adopt a mama and a baby let us know :) we are starting a waiting list. Once we have an exact headcount we will have more specifics. If you have any cages you don't need send us a pm. We always need extras and always have adopters looking too.

***ADOPTED❤️🐁*****Hello! I am Christopher , the one eyed Ratty boy. I am almost or hovering around 2 years old. My Daddy adopted me while visiting Gulf Shores, Alabama. Daddy was worried about me because I was offered on sale 50% off on account I am predestined to being a pirate.
I am very friendly and spoiled .
My Daddy is moving to Seattle and unfortunately cannot have pets. The rest of the family is about to move out of the country . Hopefully someone would appreciate adding my chonky self to their family. I love my grandpa’s banana bread. Recipe available upon adoption. Update on the massive rescue operation with the college rats. I am so grateful for every single adopter, the staff at the college and my volunteers that have helped make this happen and helped to save all 74 ratties. Everybody safely made it to their new families. We will have more coming from the college in the future as they will always let us save them before they opt for euthanasia from now on. Please keep an eye out as we will have very young babies and their moms coming in a couple of weeks. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!

Update on the College rat adoption event. EVERYBODY has found a home and is safe. Tomorrow at 11 we will get them all ready for transports. Meeting point for Denver will be the Ikea parking garage, I will update here tomorrow what time we are taking off in the springs and then again once we arrived with where we are parked. I am estimating to make it to Denver somewhere between 230 and 4. We have transport boxes for all rats. The Colorado Springs pickups will be getting a message shortly with the address. Please be there by 11:20 and bring your own transport cages if possible.

Let's safe some lifes! I am connected with a college that is using rats for psychological experiments to teach students. The ratties are super social and they are learning how to push marbels and pull levers, so no medical or painful experiences. However once the ratties learned the tricks they are not able to reuse them, leading ultimately to euthanasia if they dont have adopters. I am working with them to get these ratties all adopted. We are looking at 74 rats ages between 8 weeks and 6 months. Males and females. If you can take any of these babies in and are interested in adopting please reach out and let's get all these ratties into homes. Transport to Denver can be arranged.

***They found a home*** URGENT These ratties need to find a home asap. Direct pick up at the owner, they come with their cage. adoption with contract through our rescue amd you will get the usual perks if you adopt these lovelies. Here is what the mom had to say:

Jewels is the black and white and 9mo old, cocoa is the dark brown and 5mo old. They are sweet and socialized and smart. The cage was reinforced to prevent the smaller of the two from escaping. They are my daughter's and we are devastated to part with them, but my apartment management found out we have them and we can't keep them anymore. Need gone ASAP to a good home. In north Loveland.

New intake today. The family that found him named him Rattatouille. This sweet little guy was found outside in these freezing conditions (0 f)by some amazing people that saved his little life. He is very skinny, has some wounds and an upper respiratory infection. He will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks.

URGENT!! These two females are looking for a new home. The family is facing eviction if they don't leave. They are currently not at the rescue. Located in Colorado Springs. Transport can be arranged.

Description: Luna and Hazel(black and white) are a pair of female 1 year old pocket puppies. They love eating, playing hide & seek, and getting attention. They have been frequently handled, so they don’t jump, they don’t bite, and they are very mellow. Furthermore, they are friendly when handled by children and strangers. They come with travel cage, home cage, cage supplies, toys, food, and snacks. They are a little chonky, but they are happy and living their best rat lives! They are facing rat based discrimination and in need of a new home.

Hello, we have three very sweet goofy boys that we need to find a new forever home for. :( we love them dearly, but I've suffered a traumatic brain injury and we can't keep them. 😭

They are: Inigo Montoya, Mork Mustachio, and Jareth the goblin King.

They are about 9mos old.

Mork is a silly little dude. He likes to play and wrestle. Jareth likes to explore and loves head pets.
Inigo is definitely the most cuddly. He loves to be the sidekick for doing stuff around the house or Netflix time.

Inigo also has allergies. He'll occasionally need I
meds and his nebulizer, which I will send with him.
It's pretty easy to do. I can also be a support if there are questions.

They will come with ALL of their stuff. Toys, training supplies, a bunch of hammocks and fabrics, foods, extra meds, and double critter nation cage. Etc.

I'd like to know they're going to a good, stable, home. So please be willing to have an open conversation with me. These are our little buddies, so that's very important to us.

We also have an AMAZING vet locally. I highly recommend staying with him if you'd like contact info please let me know. :)
