Congrats to DeAnn Stoolman, this year's winner of the Roy Eiguren Leadership Award. This annual award is given to an Idaho Red Cross volunteer who exhibits innovation and exemplary service in support of our mission. DeAnn is the founding Animal Visitation Lead in the Idaho and Montana Region. As part of the Animal Visitation program, Red Cross volunteers and their four-legged companions visit Gowen Field for deployment and family day events, work with patients at the Boise VA hospice program and make appearances at our Sound the Alarm events and the Idaho board retreat. DeAnn recruited 35 members from our community partner – Idaho Go Team Therapy Dogs – and together with her co-volunteers – Golden Labs Charlie and Frannie – provides comfort and care to our military and veteran communities. Way to go, Deann!

NEWS RELEASE
New York, NY – The American Kennel Club (AKC®), the world’s largest purebred dog registry and leading advocate for dogs, is proud to honor the Go Team Therapy Dogs with the AKC Paw of CourageSM awards. The AKC Paw of Courage shows appreciation for the work that dogs do in the service of humankind.

The GO TEAM is an active group of 600+ handler/therapy dog teams working across the United States and Italy. These teams have volunteered with first responders and firefighters during times of crisis including shootings, suicides, floods, fires, and major disasters among other catastrophic events. Teams have also made special visits to countless schools, colleges, hospices, hospitals, and other special events.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, many of the teams around the country had to make changes to their normal routine. Several therapy teams paired up with teachers to do virtual Paws2Read sessions, and many began virtual therapy visits with their patients. Some have also participated in drive-by visits to assisted living homes, fire departments, graduations, birthdays and more.

Our Story

Go Team Therapy, Crisis and Airport Dogs is a 501(c)3, non profit. We have a division called Go Team ESA Etiquette and Go Team Service Dogs Etiquette Training. All of our handler/dog teams must have their basic obedience and task training, mastered, complete their CGC within one year of attending the training class, be referred to us by a Go Team Coordinator or one of our recognized training facilities and have a letter from their Doctor stating they need a ESA / SD and the reason why. . The Go Team Service Dogs conducts "Etiquette" classes for the dogs and their handlers. We teach what to do and most importantly what not to do, in different situations.

In the United States, there is NO certification for Emotional Support Animals or Service Dogs. Out classes are Etiquette Training Classes.
