Maddie, one of our newer technicians, has been working with pets since 2013 and has been working as a registered technician since 2020. Ms. Maddie is a country girl with a big heart and passion for working with animals! She lives out in the wide-open spaces of Ramah, CO and has many animals at home she tends to. In her spare time, she really enjoys leatherworking, hiking and getting in the boating/wakeboarding out on the lake! She also has many farming-type responsibilities there on her property that she enjoys doing very much!
Maddie’s pets include: Leroy (a 14yo Gelding American Quarter Horse), a trio of Springer Spaniels named Sophie, Sage and Clove, a senior Mini American Shepherd named Boston, 3 kitties named Waldo, Alphonse, and Edward, & a plethora of chickens who all keep her very busy!🐔🐴🐶🐱

Dean is a recent addition to the GVPC team, joining us last fall on Halloween. He attended a technical school from 2011-2013 studying biomedical science and got his veterinary technician certificate shortly after. He took a step back for a few years and was working in pet retail, specializing in fish and reptiles. But now he is back in the industry helping us coordinate with our clients, and providing a helping hand as a vet assistant in our clinic. Dean grew up in Indiana and has been in CO since 2017, and says he has enjoyed every moment of it! In his spare time he really enjoys video games and role-playing with his D&D group.

Dean has 1 pup named Manfred who has numerable health issues; he does his best to keep his baby happy and healthy despite the comorbidities. 🥲🐺

Mr. Benjamin Clothier is our superb office manager! Ben attended CSU Pueblo and graduated in 2007 with his Bachelor’s in business & administration. Being Dr. Clothier’s son, Ben has played a crucial role in supporting Great Value Pet Clinic since the clinic was first opened in 2010! In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar, traveling with his wife, hiking and assisting with the youth group at church. We wouldn’t be able to run our business without him and are grateful for him every day!

Ben has the GOODEST girl at home, a Yellow Lab named Daisy (who is at the clinic almost daily) and a kitty named Patchy! 🐕🐈

Leah, one of our more seasoned veterinary technicians, has been working as a tech since the beginning of 2015. Her credentialing for her RVT registration was based solely off of knowledge and experience, making her such an amazing resource for advice and information! She has been with Great Value Pet Clinic for 2 years now. She enjoys art projects, collecting stones/crystals, and exploring the mountains in her spare time! Her favorite thing to do outside of work is to take her truck (Betsy) off-roading!

Leah has 1 dog and 2 chickens at home; (dog) R***r and (chickens) Edith and Edna who keep her company! 🐕🐓

Ms. Patty is our front desk HERO! She has been working in the veterinary industry for many years, most recently she was a hospital manager for VCA for more than 20. Her dedication and passion for our pets is truly admirable. Born and raised on the coast in New Jersey, Ms. Patty is a lover of critters, books, sewing, movies, and her big beautiful family! She is a natural introvert who now talks to strangers for a living (lol). She is our anchor here at Great Value Pet Clinic and we don’t know what we would do without her!

🇺🇸🎆🎇Happy Monday, all! We know that the fireworks have already started for most of you, and how frustrating this can be in regards to our stressed and anxious pets! We wanted to share just a few over-the-counter options for stress relief during this very loud holiday.

These options include: Pheromone products by ThunderEase/Adaptil and ThunderWunder chews; these are very effective in inducing a calming feelings for our dogs, ThunderShirts are also very effective in providing a comforting hug/embrace which assists in managing anxiety. Lastly, we also recommend giving music a try! There is a form of music referred to as 'Through a Dog's Ear' which provide calming and soothing noises which help ease the dog. Boarding facilities are filling up quick and most have very similar prerequisites to board; they want your babies up-to-date on vaccines! Most facilities will want: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo/Lepto, Bordetella, and some even require Influenza. 🦟🦟Mosquito season is upon us! We anticipate a very wet and bug-filled 2024 here in Colorado. Due to the increase in precipitation, we are already seeing a large number of skeeters around. Please consider getting your pet heartworm tested at our facility and picking up some heartworm prevention! The more mosquitoes around, the higher the chance of transmitting heartworm; it only takes 1 mosquito to bite 1 heartworm-positive pet to then infect a healthy pet that is not on prevention. Give us a call or shoot us a text to set up your appointment to get your babies the protection they need this season! 🦟🦟

Ms. Mitzi is ready for us to leave for the weekend so she can have her throne to the castle back. Mitzi is a rescue, as someone brought her in for a surgical procedure and never came back to pick her up. We have since become her peasants, aiding her at every beck and call. I will say, though, we wouldn't have it any other way and we love her to pieces.

The weather is getting warmer and wetter ya'll! Our clinic in Calhan provides walk-in heartworm tests & preventative care services 3 Saturdays per month from 9am-1pm, no appointment necessary! During June 2024, we plan to be out there on the 8th, 22nd, and 29th providing these aforementioned walk-in services. So if any of your fur babies are needing vaccines or heartworm prevention at a reduced cost, this post is for you!
