This is so very important for people to remember! So many times riding with disrespectful riders.

HOT TIP: RIDE AT THE LEVEL OF YOUR LEAST-EXPERIENCED/LEAST-CONDITIONED HORSE AND RIDER
Job One of a good riding buddy is to be considerate of the other riders in the group. This means tailoring the ride to the greenest horse or rider, or the one that is most out of shape.
After all, if you were on a green horse, would you enjoy a ride that exposed the horse to more scary situations than he could handle? And if this was your first ride after recovering from an injury, would you want to do a 20-mile route over rough terrain? Probably not.
Being a good riding buddy means choosing a trail with that “least” person or horse in mind, setting a pace that is sustainable for everyone in the group, and taking breaks when needed.
If you adapt the ride to meet the needs of the “least” in your group, you’ll be keeping them safe and ensuring they have a good time. And isn’t that the mark of a good riding buddy?
