Hearts Desire Ranch is officially closed. We closed on the sale of the property yesterday and the movers came and packed my pod this morning headed for San Antonio. It is bittersweet because I will miss the beauty of this place, but I know God is leading me in a different direction. This heart's desire will live on forever in my heart. Thank you to all of you who have prayed for me during the difficult times I have been through the past 4 years. There were many, many more good times and it is these memories I will cherish.

I am always pleased to get updates on the babies that have left here. I got a picture of ISIS Bishaala, a daughter of the great HP Mishaal. I thought I would share these with you. First pic is her before she left and other two are her now. She has just come out of the pasture . She is Straight Egyptian with awesome pedigree. She needs to be in the show ring. A little bird told me that she might be for sale soon. Message me for details.

It is always so exciting to see babies you raised to go on to do great things! Just saw these photos on Facebook. Regenia bought both of these fillies from me when they were yearlings. Regenia and these fillies went through a really hard time in Hurricane Harvey. I am so thrilled to see her with her wonderful trainer, Dan Marcum, accomplish so much with these beautiful horses. So proud of them!! Madheen's Ressurection, born on Easter, aka "Peepers" is daughter of my Desert Rose. The chestnut filly ridden by Regenia is Madheen's Shamrock, aka "Clover" born on St. Patrick's Day.
Congratulations Regenia!!

It is hard to explain what is happening here at HDR. But things started downhill when I was assaulted in 2015. I thought I was getting over the hill when I had pneumonia in January and broke my leg. It was an open fracture and had to be surgically repaired. So 8 months later, I am in more pain and because of the limp, I have torn the meniscus in that leg. So I have to go back for more surgery on October 10. I sent four of my babies off today to be marketed and sold. That leaves me with only 3 and depending on how this goes, I may only have one. I will probably have to sell this place because I am no longer able to take care of it. Who knows, maybe things will turn around. I am seeking God's face and trusting that my life is not falling apart, but it is falling in place. This is just another chapter that will close and I will go to the next trusting God that He knows the plans He has for me. Pray for me friends. Today was not an easy day.

Just found out this morning that one of our babies born here --Atticus Golden Sun--will be racing in the Tevis Cup next weekend. This is like the Triple Crown in endurance racing. This is a 100 mile, one day endurance race. "Sunny" was one of our most beautiful babies born here almost 9 years ago. She was sired by Iced Gold out of Eloquent Atticus. I am so excited to see how she does!! Please pray for her safety and that of her rider. Attaching a few pictures of her and her parents.

It is a beautiful spring day here at Hearts Desire Ranch. In Texas, we rarely experience Spring as we usually go from Winter to Summer. Loving this and the horses are too. The humming birds are humming and the bluebirds are nesting. Glorious! Thank you, Lord!

We moved most of my horses to the back pasture before I went in the hospital when we were having so much rain and cold. There is more barn space there. So I haven't been able to just look out the back door and see them. Today Scott helped me into the gator at feed time and took me down to visit. It was so wonderful to see them all! Especially my Rose!

The horses do not like this white stuff!

Update on Misty. She is feeling much better and is now home. She has not passed the impaction but it has moved from the small intestine to the large intestine.
She is no longer in pain, but she is hungry and can't eat yet and is a little pi**ed off. Hopefully we might be able to feed her a little tomorrow if she passes enough p**p tonight.
Isn't all this p**p talk fun for you non-horse people?
But it is very important to us.
Thank you for your prayers. Don't stop praying please.

Please say a prayer for Fames Starry Night aka Misty. She coliced last night after we put a new round bale out. She went to the hospital this morning after they put a tube in her stomach and drained over a gallon of fluid from her stomach. She is on IV fluids and pain meds. If she does not improve by morning we may have to put her down. She is in terrible pain. Please pray for wisdom for me to do the right thing for her. Please also pray for Tut who also coliced while the vet was here this morning. Something wrong with that hay, I'm afraid.

Love the hummingbirds at HDR. Sometimes we have 8 at a time. They love my special nectar.

I know there are a lot of people dealing with so much loss. I hate to ask for prayer for a horse, but my precious Desert Rose has suffered a painful injury. At first we thought she had punctured her jaw with a screw or nail. It was infected and oozing so we were cleaning it every day. But when she stopped eating I knew something was bad wrong because Rose never turns down a meal. She went to vet today and her jaw is fractured in three places. Apparently the injury came from inside. My heart is breaking for her. We soaked her food tonight and I hand fed her about 8 handfuls of the mash. I am so sad I didn't know sooner. Please pray that the bone doesn't die because then we have surgery. My baby is 18 years old. I couldn't stand losing her like I did Spotty last year. Please pray for her and me.

Wicket decided to dig in the mud. He looks like a little pig! LOL

Heart's Desire Ranch has it's sign back. Except this a new and improved version. Thank you so much Matthew Newton and Scott Gorden. Love you both for doing this for me!

Peaceful evening at Hearts Desire Ranch. Thank you God for your many blessings!

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to a long time ranch hand for Hearts Desire Ranch. He had quadruple bypass surgery a little over a week ago. Something went wrong today and we still don't know exactly what, but he passed away after heroic efforts to save him. We celebrate his life tonight but we also pray for his widow, Anne. She has some challenges ahead. Please join us in praying for her.

Scott has a lot of duties at Hearts Desire Ranch. One of them is playing mother hen for an orphan.

It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our mini-donkey Benny aka Eeyore. We never knew exactly how old he was, but he was a sweetheart and kids loved him. He had foundered but we had gotten him vet help and he was doing so much better. But I think he was just so sad to have to be in a stall, and he just gave up and died quietly in his stall this afternoon. RIP Benny, I'll see you at the rainbow bridge. Say hello to Spotty, Fancy and Sultress. We love you!

A huge congratulations to Patricia and Adam on their purchase of Isis Bishaala! Bishaala is a true heart's desire for Patricia. They will be going into training at Magic Moments Stables with Granger S Durdin-Pugh who has a trainer of champions! We are so excited to see where she will take Patricia and Bishaala!

Went for my second trail ride since my surgery. It was easier this time. I think Rose is working at it too hard. Always has to be in front of everyone. My Diva mare! Had a great time on mothers day with Scott Gorden, Debbie Perrotta and Marilynn Tomalchoff.

Had a really great time riding Desert Rose last week. Had to wear the helmet, just in case, but it was worth it. With Scott Gorden on HA Sweet Request (sister to HA Spots by Request). Also riding with us Marilyn and Debbie. Can't wait to go again!

Sadly we lost our kitty Quincy. He loved Bianca so much and was such a great mouser. Only thing we can figure is he was bitten by a snake. At least we found him and could give him a proper burial. RIP Quincy.
