🌟 Can you imagine a dog who was such a good boy that he was used to temperament test other dogs in the shelter, being euthanized by that same shelter due to overcrowding? That was Dillon. A young, happy, loving soul who almost got the ultimate raw deal. It’s painful to even think of; thankfully we don’t have to.

Meet Dillon! Alive & well, bc the stars finally aligned for him & he was scooped up by House of Shepherds just in time. ✨

Dillon is 3-4yrs of age, about 60lbs & we believe a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He has been fully vetted (neutered, chipped, vaccinated, f***l & blood) & is now getting his finishing obedience touches before finding a home of his very own.

If you are able, House of Shepherds could really use help covering his medical & training. Both that he so very much deserves!

Beautiful Reef was put to sleep this morning . His Mama Marsha was there holding him . His body was starting to shut down and he was refusing water . I want to thank everyone who helped bring Reef some relief and made sure he had a good week .
Cindy Sorensen thank you for the post we wouldn’t have known he needed help without you . Thank you Tracy Ford for going to pick up Reef and helping him by keeping him overnight .
Huge thank you to Teresa Trace Simonetti for fostering him and making sure he was given meds cleaned up and had quality of life . To everyone that donated thank you 🙏 we did all we could to make him comfortable. He was in no pain for the first time in years .
Hospice rescue is hard but sometimes it’s needed .
Instead of dying at a shelter with strangers he was with his Mom and true animal advocates .
Reef mattered to so many of us and I am grateful we where able to help him .
He was a special dog and I hope that people see his story and consider opening their home to a senior dog or take a dog in for hospice care .
All dogs deserve dignity and respect and most of all all dogs deserve to have Someone holding them at the end . I know Bob was there to welcome him .

Reef is with his foster family and did excellent meeting his pack ❤️
We couldn’t get him into the vet today hopefully we can get him in tomorrow.
He needs bloodwork and we need to find out why he is constantly spinning & sleeping with his head tilted .
Could be an inner ear infection or doggy vertigo.
Tomorrow I will post donation information.
I have added a new admin on House of Shepherds Rescue FB page (it’s hard for me to care for a few seniors my family and home ) besides a few fosters I am a one woman show 😍
she will post updates.
All updates will also be public on my personal page or you can send me a FR .

🌟 This sweet hunk of burning love is Reese! He is a PUPPY at just 13 months old & he may have his life stolen as soon as today, Thursday Nov 18. Riverside is overrun with intakes & the shelter is bursting, forcing so many young, adoptable & healthy dogs (& kitties) to lose their lives. There are TONS of Shepherds & we are at capacity. Reese is 61lbs & his only crime is being “fearful on intake”. Who could blame him. RIVERSIDE, CA

The day we have always dread has come. 37 DOGS ARE SCHEDULED FOR EUTHANASIA! This is the largest RED LIST we have seen in years. The last RED LIST outcome was not what we hoped, & 18 dogs ended up losing their lives. We know it’s nearly impossible to save them all as rescues are full & there aren’t enough adopters available but these are good dogs! (Don’t get us started on the irresponsible community who put us in this mess in the first place)!
