It’s a very busy day here at the AQHA VRH World Show for the Darren Miller Stables crew.

We want to congratulate Madison Moore and Avery Genova for their amazing performance. We know it takes a village and these young ladies have a great team behind them. We feel blessed to play a part in that.

I had a great time judging in Pennsylvania for the Atlantic Reined Cowhorse Association. The most enjoyable part may have been judging the short stirrup class. Great bunch of kids, the competition was intense.

Congratulations to Jessie James and her horse Im Gunna Let It Shine on their National Versatility Ranch Horse Association year end championship AND national finals championship! Jessie has put in a lot of hard work this year and it paid off. We're so proud of Jessie and so glad to have her as part of the Darren Miller Stables team!

Colorado State Fair 2023 has been pretty good to us so far.

We will post full results for the Darren Miller Stables crew soon but Bet On Smooth Pepto owned by Roy Durbin Jr. was 3rd Overall in the Open AQHA VRH, adding another $1075 to his career earnings.

On an unrelated note..... I'm looking for trail obstacles.... and possibly any instruction that you may be willing give as well.

Congratulations to Aniston Marostica and Whimpa Chic (pictured center) for winning the 2023 Logan County Fair 4-H Intermediate CHAMPIONSHIP! Whimpa Chic is a Darren Miller Stables graduate! We love seeing horses coming out of our program and helping develop the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen.

Cattlewoman Jennifer Furrow and her hubby Rick donated custom saddles to the 3 winners of the horse show at the Logan County Fair & Rodeo! Thank you guys for everything you do for the kids in Logan County!

I recently returned from judging the National Reined Cow Horse Association's CANADA'S GREATEST HORSEMAN as well at the NRCHA horse show at the Ponoka Stampede

What a fun event to be part of. I am honored that this was my third time judging an event of this caliber this year. Thank you to the Alberta Reined Cow Horse Association for the opportunity.

Yesterday we wrapped up our herd work! Here's how the Darren Miller team ended up:

- Darren Miller and Bet On Smooth Pepto owned by Roy Durbin Jr. were 3rd in the Open Stock Horse and Two-rein Spectacular herd work. Moving them to third as we enter the fence work today.
- Kyle Likes and RBR Wreck It Ralph were 3rd in the Level 1 Open Derby herd work, leaving them in 3rd place going in to the fence work. Kyle and Most Peppy Dual were 2nd in the Limited Open Bridle Spectacular putting them 2nd going in to the fence work.
- Roy Durbin Jr. and Bet Hesa Cool Cat were 6th in the Non-Pro Boxing Spectacular herd work.
- Jessica Smith and Catchin Those Reys held their own in a tough pen of cattle to tie for 12th.
- Jessie James and Im Gunna Let It Shine also held their own to tie for 12th.
- Miriam Altman and Sipping Coors light were 3rd in the Limited Open Bridle Spectacular herd work, leaving them 3rd coming in to the fence work.

We're off to a strong start at the Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association Drought Buster. Today's the herd work. Here's how the crew lined up in the rein work yesterday:

- Darren Miller and Bet On Smooth Pepto owned by Roy Durbin Jr. laid down an awesome 144.5 in the Open Two-Rein and Open Stock Horse Challenge
- Kyle Likes and his derby horse, RBR Wreck It Ralph were a 136 in the Level 1 Open Derby. Kyle and his bridle horse, Most Peppy Dual were a 138.5 to win themselves a check in the Limited Open Bridle.
- Dana Stephenson and his bridle horse, BlueGeneBabyQueen were a 138 in the Non-Pro Bridle.
- Miriam Altman and her bridle horse, Sipping Coors Light were a 142 to win the Limited Open Bridle rein work.
