Here at Tails and Scales we know how much our pets mean to us, unfortunately we cannot constantly have them by our side, and leaving them home alone can be stressful for both you and your pet. Whether it's popping in 1-3

times a day, or an overnight stay, we can reduce anxiety and keep your pet safe, comfortable, and stimulated. Overnight stays can include services such as feeding/watering, playtime, litter box maintenance, outdoor play, brushing, etc. Don't have any furry/scaly family members? Let us watch your house while you're away! Schedule a stop in for us to collect your mail, water your plants, take out trash etc.

Draco is putting the "scales" in Tails and Scales.

Bearded dragons are one of the most docile reptiles and I have a weakness for them.

They're named "bearded dragons" because of their ability to inflate and darken their throat when they feel threatened. If you have a bearded dragon, it's a good way to know if they are stressed!

Meet Rudy! He's a French Bulldog.

You've probably seen a Frenchie before, but do you know what the term brachycephalic means?

Any dog breed with a "smashed face" is a brachycephalic breed. These breeds need to be extra careful in warmer weather like today. Because of their flattened face, they have a harder time regulating their body temperature and they're more susceptible to things like heat stroke.

Trusty is an approximately 4 year old bloodhound mix who is currently living as a stray. He has been vaccinated, neutered, is up to date on preventative care, and is being treated for Ehrlichia.

Trusty is a mellow guy who loves people and gets along with other dogs. He just wants a family to tell him he's a good boy and give him belly rubs. Let me know if you or anyone you know would be interested in this guy. 🐾

I recently helped out with an interesting vet visit. My godson Bilbo is a 109 pound Sulcata Tortoise. The logistics of his vet visit take a little more thought than a dog's or cat's would. He got a great bill of health from his vet and had a microchip placed. 🐢

These guys are native to New Caledonia. They're nocturnal and arboreal.

Crested geckos were thought to be extinct until 1994 (great year btw). The wild population declined after the introduction of fire ants. Fire ants compete for food and also attack the geckos in large numbers.

My heart sings when I see a small animal that is well loved and properly taken care of. Goober has a beautiful big enclosure with lots of different enrichment items and different textures. She even has a security camera so her mom can check on her any time of the day!

Often, hamsters are bought as "starter pets" for kids, and unfortunately they are often not properly cared for. In my opinion, there's no such thing as a starter pet. Every animal deserves proper care, no matter the size! ❤️
