Our Early Release Day Enrichment students helped prepare some of our garden beds for seeds. All of the rain we’ve gotten has packed down the soil. They enjoyed breaking it up and getting the weeds out. You know that satisfaction when you get the whole root? Yeah. Good stuff! ☺️
Do you know about our Early Release Day Enrichment program? What an amazing opportunity for children to experience hands-on farm, garden and nature curriculum, right in the middle of the city of Cotati!
Thanks to our partnership with the City of Cotati, we can bring our local elementary school children this opportunity. Watch the video below and visit SandyLoam.org for more details.

Decomposition Timeline
Our elementary after school program wrote out a scientific hypothesis for how long household items take to decompose. They found that they were close on some items but really far off on others. Did you know that a glass jar takes 1 million years to decompose?
Sandy Loam Volunteer Day 2021
Thank you to the amazing volunteers who came out this past Saturday to help us create a beautiful pollinator garden and chicken run. Our families from Bright Skies Montessori and Rainbow Bridge Montessori did an amazing job!
We hope that the community will stop by and see the beautiful flowers and all of the happy pollinators who are already enjoying it. The chicken run is almost complete. Once we finish the coop, we will be moving some of the chickens in. They will be able to be seen from W. Sierra, along with the spacious new chicken run.
